Can't Access Nexus Mods - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

@Ryan already tried that to no avail. Site was up beautifully today all day and then precisely after 8:15 here (Mobile, AL) down to a crawl. Happens EVERY night for the last week or more

Ryan Taylor · 14 October 2015 - 01:04

If anyone is still having this issue, try changing your DNS server.

I have UVerse as well... Not working. Sometimes it loads but takes at least 10 minutes.

Stephen Moore · 13 October 2015 - 04:39
· · Chrome 45.0 on Windows

same here. AT&T uverse and the page won't even load for me... imma try using a proxy see if that helps. ill post my results.

Mark Switzer · 13 October 2015 - 02:53
· · Firefox 41.0 on Windows

I think it's an issue with AT&T as well. I tried to post this here several days ago and could not get the posting functionality to work. If I connect my PC to the Internet using my phone's hotspot (Sprint) I can connect fine and download as well. I cannot get the page to completely load, if at all, when trying to connect over AT&T Uverse. I'm in TN in the USA.

AT&T is really starting to suck. It's already been slow compared to cable, now some sites won't work at all. I'll likely go back to Comcast in Dec. when my contract is up with AT&T. It's more expensive, but it's MUCH faster and more reliable.

Mark Jackson · 13 October 2015 - 02:28
· · Chrome 45.0 on Windows

Been in touch with AT&T and nada....Like you said Dustin...every night for the past week. About 8:30 mine is useless. Talked to Robin Scott aka "the dark one" at Nexus too all to no avail. Tracert shows a couple of problems, but reaching the site at least. Gonna try your hotspot idea and see...wireless is att as well.. S#@!

Dustin Spates · 13 October 2015 - 01:18
· · Chrome 45.0 on Windows

It's just so stupid that it's only at night. Works just fine during the day, but if I want to get on at night I have to use my phone. It being AT&T wouldn't surprise me one bit, but still makes no sense why it's only at night. It's not even like it's peak hours...3am on a Monday night(central time).

Rick Gonzales · 12 October 2015 - 05:56
· · Chrome 45.0 on Windows

Yeah, I was wrong. I ended up buying a good VPN and now it works beautifully. I bought mine from private internet access. $40 a year and they don't store logs.

Cat Mac · 12 October 2015 - 02:15
· · Chrome 45.0 on Windows

I've been trying to get on that site for the past 20 minutes to no avail.

Khaaliq A. West · 12 October 2015 - 02:04

I use AT&T and it works here. just very slow. other times it doesn't its not just them.

Joshua Kim · 11 October 2015 - 08:04
· · Firefox 41.0 on Windows

dont know why, but for the past week nexus mods has worked fine; during the day...
as soon as 11 or 12 hits it slows to a halt, but as soon as 6am hits its ok again. I hope they resolve this issue.

Firmus Succurro · 11 October 2015 - 06:32
· · Chrome 45.0 on Windows

It is AT&T's fault and noone elses. On Nexusmods forums alot of people, all of which use AT&T, have complained. If you use a proxy or vpn, the site will load fine. The reason some phones may work and not pc, is that they get their internet/phone service from an alternate supplier.

Bob Jones · 11 October 2015 - 05:31
· · Chrome 45.0 on Windows

I am also experiencing issues i can connect fine on my phone but not on my pc. My friend who also lives in the US very near me can log on to the site without issue when i am unable to. I have at&t but he does not how many of you can confirm you have at&t

Dustin Spates · 11 October 2015 - 04:21
· · Chrome 45.0 on Windows

So, if you're unable to connect on your PC but mobile is working for you try this:
1) Disable your home network connection. Either unplug the ethernet cord, disable Local Area Connection(go to Network and Sharing Center, select 'Change adapter settings', right-click select disable) or disconnect from the local provider wifi.
2) Make your smart phone a hotspot(if you can connect to the web on your phone most likely you can enable a hotspot with it)
3) Connect to your phone's network, it can be password protected also

This worked for me, hopefully others have similar luck. Maybe Nexus will get this resolved in time, but for now it looks like this might be the only solution for the night.

Nick S. Jimenez · 11 October 2015 - 03:28

Jun Gunter · 11 October 2015 - 03:23

It might be a US thing. I don't understand why it's only around this time of the day that it stops working.

Dustin Spates · 11 October 2015 - 03:21

It looks like it's a region thing. My friends in Europe have no issue with the site, is everyone having issues in the US?

ATT subscriber here also. I just upgraded to the fastest package they have and now can't connect to Nexus. Tried on my smartphone through wifi and couldn't get through, turned off wifi and my phone loaded right up. Must be ATT. Anyone have a solution for this?

Firmus Succurro · 10 October 2015 - 07:11

Might be AT&T subscribers having access to that site. For me, I'm on AT&T and I have trouble accessing it during the same certain hours every night for about a week.

so it was working fine about 30 or so minutes ago was able to download 2 or 3 mods and was in the process of finding information about scoped bows because i want them to match the damage of other bows in SKYRE and as soon as i find something that i may have been looking for i get infinite loading and no other pages for any nexus is working now >.

Patrick O'Brien · 9 October 2015 - 05:06
· · Chrome 45.0 on Windows

Not sure why but for some reason I am able to easily access it on my smartphone, but not on my computer. So for now, just downloading my mods on my phone, then transferring them over to my computer. Not gonna let this stop me for now. Anyone out there who does have the capability to do this, give it a try and see if it works for now. At least until the Nexus website decides to work on computers.

Jeremy Janishewski · 6 October 2015 - 05:26

Yep, I can't access either. I saw a snippet of a message on a google search saying they were having problems with accounts using gmail and yahoo email accounts, but since the message was cut off and is on their forums, it doesn't do any good for the people that can't access it. Nexus really should post these things on their Facebook page. It is simple cop and paste.

And... still down. Not sure why, I was able to access the website just fine days ago. But ever since 2 days ago, I just cant access it and keep getting these timeout errors. Everything else is fine for me, internet-wise. Only nexusmods is down still. Kind of frustrating at this point, seeing as it still figures as "up" when its been down for several people already (not just for one or two users).

Three things are probably happening right now
1. Server maintenance (which they should have sent a message to all users telling them that the site will be inaccessible)
2. Too much traffic or volume of people coming in and downloading
3. someone must have hack the website probably because he or she is upset with the site's overall performance or treatment of the users so right now the servers are shut down to prevent anymore outbreaks

Most of the auto download chooses severs that crash and don't download my file. I try again, same sever, same crash. And there's been more "No severs at this time :(". I don't like where this site is going. I advise going back to normal downloading method.

Never one time have I gone onto Nexus and downloaded a mod without some issue. Never. They are constantly down or it constantly gives me error messages.

I can get on the site but when I try to download a mod I can't get off the description.
