We have tried pinging Vimeo website using our server and the website returned the above results. If vimeo.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access Vimeo - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

I'm on the paid service and need to upload training videos for our client meeting tomorrow but vimeo is down on chrome, IE8 and safari. Refreshing my IP address doesn't help :(. Poor show.

I'm just trying to watch a movie through X-Box live and it say the Vimeo server isn't available. I've been trying to buy "In Your Eyes" for the last twenty minutes and the payment won't go through on any device I attempt it on.

No videos will play after accessing them, video I uploaded yesterday is not there anymore. VIMEO WHERE ARE YOU... PHONE HOME!!!

Anders Henrysson · 26 March 2014 - 13:44

Cannot access vimeo.com, it started yesterday, made a reset of the router, cleared cache, tried different browsers, changed DNS, but nothing helps. Youtube and other sites works perfectly. Please solve this.

My training videos are not uploading as usual and I have customers waiting for this product. What takes 5 minutes has taken 5 hours and still not working, even on different computers. Where is customer service for vimeo??

None of my vimeo videos are playing on any of my websites. Can't get a hold of them. This is horrible. Customers freaking out. Not good Vimeo, not good.

Ugh, how can they have no fail over? Some of us who PAY for the Pro service kinda expect it to be admin'd like a PRO service. Certainly makes us look bad to our clients.

Not even a simple, competent redirect to a splash page that says "It's not you, it's us" so everyone knows "Ah, at least they know and are working on it." Does anyone outside of vimeo offices/firewall know the entire site has crashed?

I think the site is still "down". In that no updates are occurring. If you search the videos you will not see anything more recent then 2 days ago. Also, there are no posts in the forum more recent then 2 days ago. I think they are running on a backup and not a live system with updates. I think they are still having problems.

Al Gardner · 16 January 2013 - 12:51

I have a Vimeo plus account as well. This does suck but you know shit happens.

We can leave Vimeo, but we would probably come back for the same reason we chose Vimeo in the first place. I hear alot of people always threaten to leave, but the truth is there's no where to go for the price and performance ratio that Vimeo offers. If there was we'd all be gone. And if you think they are the only serve vulnerable to outages, think again.

I am leaving Vimeo, been with them as a pro user for nearly 5 years and have had a lot of issues lately. They used to have an absolutely fantastic service and will be a pain to move all the videos and links. Was on the fence earlier but probably worth it at this point unless they explain what has been going on and address my low expectations moving forward...

I would definitely think that some kind of compensation - increased HD limit, free month, something - would be in order, at least for those of us who pay.
