We have tried pinging Nest website using our server and the website returned the above results. If is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access Nest - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

Nest thermostat showing a "?" and that it last connected more than six hours ago. This time I can at least get to, yet only to view the question mark. If it is not back up in a couple hours, I'll try rebooting the Apple Airport Extreme, etc. This is the first time this has happened since purchasing the unit. It has always connected, even through changes in routers it was flawless.

when will we have an app, that we can put on our home computers to emulate the nest "server". All a nest server is, is a server, which updates your dynamic ip, from your internet provider. So your devices can connect to your nest thermostate. Look at dynamic ip software. Same thing.

This is the first outage I've noticed in the 7 months I've had it. As long as it's fixed soon, I don't think they do that bad of a job.

That's unacceptable. Sorry. Showing off that it's the thermostat of the future, yet it's down for hours without even an email from them telling me about it.

Down in NYC for the last 3 hours plus.

United States · Verizon FiOS is down and seems to have been for some time - verified through Pingdom. I've only had this device for four days and this has happened, plus I had to re-input my WiFi SSID to get it to connect after a brief power outage. This puppy's probably going back...

Same here. Mobile app down. Both of my Nest units were showing question marks (within mobile app) originally this morning with neither had spoken to Nest in over 3 hours. Hopefully they get it fixed quick, one of my Nest units is 120 miles away and it's 18' this morning!
