Can't Access Godaddy - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

My company has not had email in almost 24 HOURS. Just unacceptable. Yesterday, Godaddy said they were going to reboot their server and restore service within 30 minutes. That was over 16 hours ago.

I just spoke to two obtuse Godaddy tech support reps - one manager by the name of "Mark". Refused to give his last name. They should be fired or trained on how to help customers, especially during crises.

GODADDY - you need to provide an ETA on a fix ASAP.

Frank Biganski · 16 October 2015 - 12:18

Godaddy is just plain slow te they were certainly faster than my old provider. I went with them a year ago, as they offered a WordPress friendly hosting for less than $100 a year ($12 the first year).

I;e smooshed my images, tweaked my site, have a grwat fast-loading WP theme, got the fastest and newest router, but GoDaddy is just too slow too often.

And they have been slow over the past few days too (10/16/2015). I researched and it seems inmotion has some great reviews from website that are not associated with them (true impartial reviews and tests).

Ted Alexander · 9 October 2015 - 16:44
· · Chrome 45.0 on Windows

Yes. I can confirm that there are definitely email problems. Previously for the past couple of weeks 40% of all automated emails using (wp_mail() or PHP mail() ) were not being sent or received by my customers. Yesterday there was a 1 to 2 hour lag for automated emails, but direct emails only seemed to have a 20-30 minute lag time. Today/Currently automated emails are not being sent or received for a minimum of 2+ hours. ie 2 customers purchased my product and did not receive payment confirmation or account setup information at all. At this point I am not sure if they even received the direct emails I have sent to them. It may be that the Host Mail server is not sending or recieving any emails at this time.

Actually the 40% of automated emails not being sent or received could just be that the customers contacted us after 30 minutes of not receiving an email and the emails did eventually get received after 1 hour, 2 hours, etc. We did not followup with those customers so it is very likely that the emails were eventually sent.

Over these last several weeks I have had intermittent problems logging into my GoDaddy Account, despite trying different browsers. ISP = Telstra Australia

1) Used iPad - both GoDaddy App AND web browser worked.
2) Used PURE VPN - my computer browser was then able to access Go Daddy account.

Notes: Go Daddy is the only secure login I have had trouble with, however some ordinary websites have failed to load at first, then automatically loaded a short while after without my intervention. It seems that the connection is failing in some way that the Go Daddy secure logon dislikes. It may not of course be the fault of GoDaddy.

I have two separate accounts with Godaddy. This email just happens to be on their bad server. Anytime I have an issue, I sign into my other account with no problems. My email has been down since around 12:30 4/15/14 and I have been told there is no estimated repair time yet. This is the worst email trouble response I've ever encountered. The sad part is that there is no press on this as Godaddy is keeping this off the radar due to the pending IPO as reported by Reuters and the WSJ in March of this year.

This is indefensible. So many of us rely on our email for not only personal communication but our professional lives as well. They don't even post on their web site that there's a problem. It's only when you finally call them that you get a terse recorded message saying that their email isn't working. No suggestion as to when it will be fixed. If emails sent to us will somehow have been saved. C'mon go daddy, grow up and grow some! We pay you good money for dependable service. THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU'RE PROVIDING!

well i spoke with my biz partner and he spoke to someone at Go Daddy, they are acting like it's only our problem and they said they can see the emails and they should be loading onto the server in a couple of hours --- that was about 8 hours ago.... STILL NOTHING.. now a day or a few hours once in a blue moon is ok, But this is going on day two, and i count on go daddy for my business which is mostly conducted through emails. How can i manage the stress this is causing... Can i hold them liable for the rise in my blood pressure and the impending breakdown..!!!

Edit: Is anyone having the same problem --- emails don't open and can't send or receive new ones since tuesday night/apr 15 10:30pm (ish) it might be time to give up on them and seek a new solution... They have been so unreliable lately and i can't stand their ads either

I was just told it is a server named Pod 6 that is the problem. This server is one of their main email servers and it has been down since Monday night 4/14. There is no ETA or any further information available from tech support. There is no work around and if your on Pod 6 you just have to wait or forward your MX records to another email server.

My Username and Hostname is not recognized within Filezilla. Basically I can't log onto the server. I'm using same hostname, username and pw as always. I had to change my Filezilla password. On phone with tech support. Nothing shows up as an issue on their end. Whatever this their tech support is not aware of it. Squirrel Nut Zippers hold music now dominates the office air.

Yes, Godaddy is down. I was on the phone around 3:30 pm today (April 8) with the rep I always speak with. He checked my sites, said the FTP uploads were not working and they would have the problem fixed as soon as possible. It's gotten worse since then, as now the sites themselves do not work. We'll see what happens by tomorrow.

Haven't been able to FTP much today. Checked Godaddy system alerts. The OpenSSL and Heartbleed vulnerability is being addressed. You might want to Google it.

I cant login either.
SO for the record GoDaddy is not crap. I have been with them 7 years but all day today I have not been able to connect to my hosting through FTP.

GoDaddy pings for me just fine, but I can't get through using my FTP access. I've been trying all day. And it's not me - I can get through to my other website hosted by Yahoo! just fine.

I have 10 accounts & signing in is not a problem, however, once logged in it will not allow me to open any messages. It simply freezes on the loading page. Can anyone kindly advise whether there is any issues with the server or a way around this issue. Thank you.

Godaddy email server timing out. Has been a continual problem. Sometimes is responses. Godaddy is losing a lot of credibility for me right now. I have been an user for over 10 years and have never had such spotty service.
