Can't Access Connexus - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

Here is what I see right now on You will be interested to see what happened with connexus when you scroll down to the bottom "More information on what happened" section.

"We'll be back later.

11 AM EDT Update on Systems Outage:

The third-party data center that houses our technology systems has restored service. We are currently working to bring Connexus and LiveLesson back online, but more time is required to restore the systems across the country and for all students.

Again, your patience with this unprecedented event is appreciated.

Parents and students: student attendance will not be impacted as a result of this outage and your school will provide updates about how to account for this event.

We will update this page by 5 PM EDT.
More information on what happened:

Connections Education uses a third-party data center to support our technology systems. It is common for large technology companies to house systems at secure third-party facilities in order to leverage the technology and facility resources of companies that specialize in hosting, protecting, and maintaining large scale technology platforms. A massive air conditioning problem at the facility resulted in Connections Education proactively taking our websites, Connexus, and LiveLesson technologies offline in order to protect the systems from overheating and damage. The critical HVAC issue required major repairs and resulted in an unprecedented outage in service. There are over 100 other customers of this facility that were impacted by this outage. It is important to note that no student information has been compromised or is at risk."

Does reading a book count as hours if you're reading it for yourself only?

My son was in a LL (Live Lesson) when the system went down and the teacher told them it is down to a power outage... They are trying to get it back up and going again soon, NOT at all the fault of the school or anything else.... Be patient. Good time for our children to do their daily PE activity or study for tests, still counts as school time either way. :)

I'm pretty sure the workers at Connexus are smarter than that to schedule maintenance at this time. I'm also angry that the website is down, because I was working on a lesson while it happened, but the outage could not be their fault.

This is really insane. My daughter was doing a quiz and now she can't turn it in and has to do the whole thing over again. What a joke and on top of everything they are going to have make up the hours tomorrow Are you kidding me????!!!!!!!

This maintenance probably wasn't intentional.

Joseph Fullmer · 27 August 2015 - 18:32

really? This downtime was **scheduled**? Who at Connexus thought it would be a good day and time to schedule maintenance? Are you sure you don't mean it was un-scheduled maintenance.

Tia Preece · 27 August 2015 - 18:31

when i called before the displayed message they said an hour. mst that would be around 1 pm. now saying 7 am eastern time

Daughter is supposed to take an online test today... guess not.
Are we the only ones here with rights and responsibilities? You would think they could wait until later at night to do maintenance rather than the middle of the school day.

Tia Preece · 27 August 2015 - 18:29

7am!? like tomorrow 7 am!? this is insane, why would they "schedule" maintenance in the middle of a school day

United States · Comcast Cable is usually really great for us and only very rarely goes down without them notifying us ahead of time.
