Can't Access Breitbart - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

This is the only website that constantly freezes and just sits and buffers the comments section. I notice the dumb ads load just fine, of course! This doesn't happen with Drudge, what's up, Breitbart?

Back to normal before 2.00am GMT.

Had Forbidden - 403 Error on 3 separate laptops and 3 mobiles. Obviously a Breitbart problem - despite this site suggesting all was normal

I get the site on EI but not Chrome or Firefox

Cathy Houser · 18 January 2016 - 21:26

400 error is only thing showing here

Heather Saunders · 6 December 2015 - 06:33

The website appears to be down. It is not a problem with my computer; I was on the website and clicked on a link to an article. Couldn't get to the article; couldn't get back to the home page. Or the London page. Or any of the other pages. I have no problem going to any other websites, including this one.

Patty Spackman · 3 November 2015 - 15:59

I have the same issues--wish they'd fix it. I no longer have the patience to mess with it!

for some reason when I click on Breitbart on my laptop the screen is strange, long blue letters, etc but not on my desktop

Sue Rinehart Nebgen · 7 June 2014 - 06:19

I can access the Breitbart site but after a minute a message comes up and says a problem has shut down my internet connection. The same for Daily Caller site with the same message and same shut down. No other site so far has given me the same shut down problem.

Mark Wright · 29 May 2014 - 18:28

For several weeks for several articles, I get a system message saying the internet is not working for IE 11 an c chrome. No other site gives this message. Is Breitbart being attacked?

Mark Wright · 28 May 2014 - 10:49
United States · Cox Communications · Internet Explorer 11.0 on Windows

For the last 5 weeks I have been getting a web page error after I've read the first few paragraphs of an article referenced by Breitbart. Windows 8.1 gives the error message then kills the web page or all web pages. I am using IE11. This happens several times a day.

Andrew Szadkowski · 6 April 2014 - 08:18
United States · Time Warner Cable

The web side wants me to log in. After loging in wants me to log in. I checked my name and password and they are OK.

Jeff Weber · 6 April 2014 - 07:56

504 error most of the day yesterday. Now asking for sign and password. I will not post my password.

Matthew Rich · 6 April 2014 - 07:38
United States · New Wave Communications

I'm getting a sign-in page. Of course since I never had to have an account I don't have a user name or password for the site. Therefore you cannot sign-in or access the page. No option to create an account either.

Jerry Randall · 6 April 2014 - 07:35
United States · AT&T U-verse

Does Breitbart require a login/password now? I was unable to access yesterday & this morning I was asked for a login/password..??

William Patrick Allar · 5 April 2014 - 16:26

Andrew is dead and now his site, I'm delighted!

Donald L Grier · 5 April 2014 - 16:06
United States · AT&T U-verse

I was able to get on the site this Morning, but then it's been down all day. 504-Error.. I also deleted Firefox and downloaded WaterFox which is 64-bit and seems much faster.

Mark Miclette · 5 April 2014 - 15:59

If it is down this long it is a DOS (denial of service) attack. With a little money and some good Russian or Chinese connections, any site can be taken down.

Glenn Eckman · 5 April 2014 - 15:50
United States · Comcast Cable is down as well

Rick Parisse · 5 April 2014 - 15:27
United States · Time Warner Cable

Breitbart blocked Mozilla last night. I'll bet the tolerant left wingers went on the attack

Amanda McCarver · 5 April 2014 - 14:33
United States · Comcast Cable

I have always been disturbed why the browsers of the left-winger outfits Microsoft and Google warn that is a suspicious site the accessing of which could harm your computer. Now I read more details about those posts, and events like today make you wonder. Can a bunch of people possibly inspired by Media Matters or some other left-wing outfit make false claims that they got malicious software from a website with which they disagree politically and cause the site to be listed under browser's as suspicious? If so, that is downright malicious, but what else is new with the Left?

Rambo Mackenzie Landry · 5 April 2014 - 12:28

Obama has ordered the website to shut down.

The smartphone app is working.

Robert NoSpam · 5 April 2014 - 06:01
United States · Wave Broadband

Would not be surprised if the Obama sycophants have been busy suppressing information of left-wing corruption and out right lies from the Main Stream Media AKA; the unelected Obama Information Ministers.

If I was a Democrat, shutting down any who exposed government corruption and the horrors of the socialized liberal ObamaCare failures would be an important objective.

It's best to keep Americans ignorant in order to keep then docile for more efficient subjugation and control.
