Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...
If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:
Browser Related Problems

Fix DNS Problems
A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.
- Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

- If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Here's what would be GREAT for everyone to do - since I just did this myself. After 10 days of having my operating system re-built, and finally getting on to Shutterfly, only to be removed again, having a Dell tech tell me that Shutterfly was blocking my ISP address, and having several Shutterfly techs scratch their heads. I finally called the manufacturer of my router (T-Link) and they re-set what is called the MTU, or maximum transmission units. I was sending too much for Shutterfly to handle. They lowered the number from 1480 to 1440, and now Shutterfly works. |

I think Shutterfly needs to prepare itself when it gives out certain promotions. If you give out a coupon for a free photo book, you better be prepared for people to be able to use it before the promotion ends. |

I've had the same problem with photo books, too. I made one on 12-30-12 with no problems. The very next day could not get them to work. I've been in contact with Customer Service and they only seem to know how to tell you to update to the latest Flash. I tried Firefox and it works fine from that browser. I'm using IE9 now, but if I decided to make another book, I will just have to use Firefox. |

It has not been working for the past week for me. I am unable to get past the initial homepage. I cannot create a new account, log in, or view any other pages on the site. The 50 free prints deal is something that is appealing to me, as I am a Snapfish user. Never have I created a Shutterfly account, and each time I visit the homepage, I am prompted to create an account. In the past week, I have repeated this process with my email address and my old email address. Neither of my email accounts get verification notifications and when I enter my information to create the account on the webpage, the little spinning circle spins for about 1-2 minutes, as if it's 'working', then it stops without doing anything but stopping the circle from spinning. All of my information is still there, I am not redirected to a page, I get 'timed-out' if I hit the log in button, or any other link as a matter of fact. My main browser is Chrome. Trying to 'fix' this problem, I have deleted all temporary files from each browser, all cache, cookies, etc, restarted my computer, used System Mechanic Pro to completely erase all junk files and temporary files, De-Fragmented my hard drive and System, used Opera, Firefox, Safari, and IE as well with the SAME error. Not only that, I have used unused email addresses I own, even though it is fact I am not a registered user with my regular email. I have even tried registering from my iPad! Snapfish is NOT uploading my JPEG images, although they are completely under the size limit and they are the correct JPEG format. This is the reason I began to explore Shutterfly and I liked the free print offer as I am doing a rather large-scale photo project in which all of my pictures are perfectly sized and organized. Now I just need a place in which I can successfully upload them. I see someone said Mixbook was good! On with the next I suppose... This is absolutely insane. Besides Mixbook, anyone recommend another good chemical photo printing service accessible online? My project is overdue (not for a class... something personal) and Shutterfly and Snapfish seem like the bottom of the barrel for printing sites. Funny, as they were the top-rated photo printing sites on most rating sites I browsed... Is anyone else having similar problems with Shutterfly and with Snapfish NOT uploading JPEG images? |

They made a big deal of pointing out it probably wasn't the site you were after and linking to shutterfly.com. Having trouble using the shutterfly customize page on my project. When I go to customize, it uses up my computer battery life (makes a blowing noise) quickly and won't let me save anything. Can't arrange pictures for a DVD slide show, shows that I have over 100 pictures on it, but it only shows me 12. I can't see the other pictures to try and arrange them. I have called Shutterfly, emailed, chatted online, contacted them a total of 5 times now!!! The last "chat" I was given the phone number.
