We have tried pinging Lunarpages website using our server and the website returned the above results. If lunarpages.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access Lunarpages - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Try alternative urls such as lpwebhosting.com

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

LunarPages email forwarders are not working. I have sent test emails from two different email sources (outside of LunarPages) and none of them got passed thru by any of my email forwarders.

Lunarpages is at it again... They changed something related to how connections to mySQL are handled and now Wordpress and two Coppermine galleries are down (basically my entire site) because they can no longer connect to the db server. Of course, I noticed this on a Sunday so at this point I have been waiting nearly 24 hours for any sort of reply or acknowledgement. I'm done with Lunarpages. I'll be riding out my contract and moving when it comes time to renew. Too many of these screw ups for an over priced service with terrible technical support.

I've been a lunarpages customer for 10 years and for 6 of those years they worked fine. Then the troubles started. Sometimes the sites would go down for weeks. Others, it would be down for days. They really didn't care at all about trying to help solve the problem. I'm so sad because I used to refer everyone to them. Now, I find myself apologizing to my friends. I'm moving everyone to siteground. They have free 24/7 customer support. Lunarpages is having real problems. I'm guessing it's financial because it doesn't cost much at all to provide shared server support.
This morning, they just shut my primary business site down with no warning because they said it used too many resources. If they had told me there was an issue, I would have solved it. It was just easier for them to shut it down and then offer to get it up again if I spent $1300 up front to put it on a dedicated server. Of course it was 5pm so their customer support shut down. (Unless I spent $40 to connect over the weekend to their support.) Arghhh...
Beware. I never post negative stuff on companies, but this just set me off. Sorry if you are lunarpages.com happy customer. They just haven't shut you down yet and held your site ransom. You've been warned.

As of 11 am, lunarpages reported that the situation in their San Diego datacenter has been "mitigated" but they needed to change their primary server's ip address. They said to allow 4-6 hours if your website is still down to allow for the new IP address to propagate.

Chris Martino · 14 May 2014 - 22:12

Investigating similar events, I hope I'm wrong but the fiber cut they claim to have happened is an accidental physical severing of the cable via digging, chopping etc of the line. If that is the case I hope they get on it ASAP otherwise who knows when it will be restored.

Chris Martino · 14 May 2014 - 21:45

"Fingers crossed they get it by morning." Meanwhile, it's daytime here in Australia and potential customers are being greeted by a "could not find the website" message. Second time we've had an outage like this in a year... think it's time to change hosts.

WTF

From Lunar Pages forum:

"On Feb 3 at approximately 9:15pm XO experienced a fiber cut on a route from Los Angeles to Santa Ana which supports our 10Gbps transport circuit between OC2 and San Diego and, as of 3:50am this morning the San Diego network returned to
normal. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and we thank you for your patience during this time."

Turns out my issue was that they had blocked my IP address for security reasons. Still not totally sure why, but was able to find more info at http://wiki.lunarpages.com/Why_was_my_IP_blocked (hopefully helpful in case anyone else ever experiences this with their host).

Dave Craig · 5 January 2014 - 11:14

I just called lunarpages at 1-877-586-7207. Apparently their registrar messed something up, and it will take a while for all the DNS servers across the country to catch up. They found that I was accidentally blocked for some reason, but were able to get me back up and running. I would suggest calling them.
