Jeremy Moore - I was just able to reach the site and certify benefits after I cleared my cache. Considering there have been no other comments that the site is down it may just be you and me that are having a problem. Try cleaning your system and see if that works. Best of luck.

The website and phone system has been down since yesterday. I found the issue around 2:30pm when I tried to access my account. I tried the phone system and it was down as well. I found a number to call in the Bronx and the person on the phone basically said they didn't know what was going on but the techs were on the issue and yes, this will delay benefits.

UPDATE. There is a NEW posting to the main page that states that they are experiencing technical difficulties with their phone system and the Web syem (DUHHH), and to be patient and to try back later. This is a new banner that was not there earlier. Just saw this at 12:48 pm- today.

NO, the site, the phones, everything is DOWN or Hacked. No press release, no info, no emails, NOTHING. This is going to e a major cluster-F when ThOUSANDS try to all certify their claims at ONCE- once it IS back up. SOOO FRUSTRATING. They can't of course put to work people that NEED jobs- to MAN this kind of thing?- meaning an outage, so we can KNOW what is going on? I also got through to a non- direct labor person- and they have NO INFO, but acknowledge that the system is completely DOWN. Both phone and web Noone has told anyone there anything- and they have no word WHY. I just can't believe that not a single notice is going out anywhere to inform the State recipients- people that rely on this money. Not even to give a time-line for how long it will be down? Then my feeling is that this is a pretty major outage. How the F they are going to now respond to 1000's that can't even initially file, but all of us that are trying to certify for the week is beyond me. Errors, mistakes, things happen- but not providing info- total BS.

The fact that is both down online, and by phone- AND they have providded no answers- is so STATE like. Frustrating. I would guess they got HACKED. That's my guess. No emails explaining this, no posting explaining this, no news story telling people what is wrong? Think of families that REALLY rely on that check EARLY. I have a feeling the phones would be down as well. If this was just normal down time for maintanence they would have said something in advance. So my gut is saying they had a major issue and it is big enough that they can't fix it with any speed. You would think they'd have a back up in place- rolling and ready for this kind of situation. Pretty frustarted. But again- as a 17 year former NYS employee- I AM NOT AT ALL surprised by this. The website was built by the lowerst bidder.

Yes, know that- but filing by phone can be a big pain, and there can be a long wait to even get through- at least form my experience. As long as it's up before Saturday, I can live with the money being a bit late. Though, it is prety annoying. I worked for NYS for years- so I'm not suprised that there isn't even a notice as to what is wrong. I thought it was my browser for most of the day!
