We have tried pinging Garmin Connect website using our server and the website returned the above results. If is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

I found this worked to get all my data to load back on my app.
Go to your Garmin connect account to make sure all your data is backed up first.
Then delete your app on your device, go to the App Store and download the app again, I found this resets the app and all the data is reloaded back again.

On my mobile device, sleep detail not displaying (Network error), step detail for days prior to today not displaying requires syncing but syncing does not restore the information. Garmin customer support stated this morning that due to yesterday's outage, they are still restoring user data to the system. Users should start seeing their data come back throughout the day.

My Garmin Vivofit was not syncing for the last two days nor displaying any of my previous data, kept reporting "connection error". Plus, every time I clicked on "Challenge" my application was closing. :-( A few minutes ago I signed out from garmin connect, then I signed in again. I had to pair my device after signing in, but all my data is back and my vivofit is syncing - Yay!
It might help you too - fingers crossed! :-)

More status: While they have completed their maintenance activity (lastnight) they continue to work issues. According to the status webpage, some progress has been made during the day to get the system fully functional. These are the functions Garmin lists, that are still having problems:

Just talked with Garmin Customer support and they indicated it is estimated to be another 2-3 hours before systems are back up. Obviously they ran into some problems that has extended the planned outage . I suggested they put a message up on the web log in page to inform users. You can go to for system status. It does provide specifics, but will give you an indication if it is up or down.

Lame excuses about touchwiz being the problem don't help either. It doesn't sync it foesnt connect. ... what it is is just a really expensive step counter and it doesn't do that as accurately as my phone.

Wow guys don't you pay attention? Garmin had banners up the last several days saying that they would be having a maintenance outage lasting several hours starting 0300 UTC Thursday 12th November. I would guess some big background changes or maintenance of their databases - that is normally what takes many hours.

Do you need technicians, cause yours are pathetic? Garmin connect down again? Ever heard of backing up your site and bringing up dual servers for the switch over that way when something does not work your can at least switch back to the old system in a reasonable amount of time, not have all your clients on connect left stranded or was letting go of all your staff by forcing them to move a bad move and now because of your cheap cost cutting idea you are short of qualified staff, because this is not service even you must realise this. Many of us use this device to track issues and feed this information to our doctors. Perhaps a smart phone is the way to, the only problem I don't see my self jogging with a smart phone!
