We have tried pinging Xbox website using our server and the website returned the above results. If xbox.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...
If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:
Browser Related Problems
- Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)
- Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :
Fix DNS Problems
A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.
- Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :
- If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

how to change your DNS.

i find it funny how people are saying they are going to switch to PS3 for when the PS3 servers are down they stay offline for days while xbox servers on the other hand only stay down for a couple of hours. Just because you can ping an address doesn't mean the sight/service is up, it means there is a connection to that particular server... AKA if it was hacked there'd still be a connection, but the hackers could break everything. This website/reporting is worthless. |

i had to cancel my credit card (which is what i used to pay for my autorenewing gold account with) before i could cancel my gold account, i got a new card and i tried signing into xbox live and it keeps saying my account is suspended till i put in a new payment option. well i put in my new credit card info and still no xbox live. i have even tried to go to xbox.com/accounts and when i click on manage payment options it says Uh oh... that shouldn't have happened. |

Oh thank god it's not just me having this issue thanks David for giving me some clarity. I have a theory why it might be down. I think it might have to do with the Beta dashboard update. I cannot sign into Xbox live on my console and, every time I try to sign in on the website it takes me to a error screen where it's supposed to have the Error ID and, such listed but, it's blank.
