Here it is three months later. I have important emails i cant get to like important information from my sons teacher this is pertinent because he is autistic. I had to switch from Verizon to AOL IN March and since then my computer gets knocked offline every 30 minutes, I am asked repeatedly to sign in to my e-mail account and my router doesn't seem to have enough power to keep me connected when I go the next room. Who do I call? Verizon or AOL? Also, to whine some more, it's Friday night and I wanted to catch up on my favorite shows using On Demand, but that isn't available for who knows how long because of the transition from Verizon to Frontier. I have been thro access Verizon for three days now and my answer call the better business bureau and report them. Right now Comcast looks better but I need my emails. The solution was change my password. My cursor keeps moving so someone is in my computer. The server being down is on there end. i took a computer course in college the guy tried to paly on my stupidity when the fact is they are reading a script they do not anymore about computers anymore than you are I do. Verizon apparently took on more than they could chew. Acquiring AOL has only put their customers in a bad position with no access to their e-mails and employees who can't seem to figure out the problems. We have been on the phone with Verizon and AOL for hours over the last couple of days with employees telling us that our answer to our security question was wrong when, in fact, we had given them the correct answer and also with technicians who said that e-mail would be up and running within 2 hours - that was 2 days ago and still no e-mail. If anyone knows of anyway that we as consumers can report this type of activity to someone other than a Verizon or AOL person, I would sure like to know. Perhaps if even of us complain to an agency, regardless of where we live, then we can get some action. Verizon and AOL obviously do not care about their customers.

I have several e-mail accounts on Some no longer allow me to log in. Some work just fine. Ansari at Verizon Chat tells me that they are having trouble with the system.

I am confused since all the e-mail addresses are under the same account, accessed through the same terminal/router in the same state.

I don't get a flag that says "We are having trouble in your area". What I get is "Incorrect User ID or Password". That is usually a flag for a mistake or a hacked account. If the servers were down, I would have thought that ALL my addresses would be inaccessible.

Same issue/time frame as Kirk Webber. Verizon internet service has been below average for quite awhile. Haven't switched carriers previously due to time and energy involved with switching emails. Solved previous issues by forwarding all Verizon email to Outlook. Now that is not working. Since Verizon is switching to AOL 3/1/16 do not expect things to improve. Currently in process of dumping Verizon and switching to new carrier. Painstakingly notifying everybody of new email and changing all log in info. After 20 years, time to say goodbye to Verizon.

Haven't been able to log into Verizon internet site since about 8 Feb. So no email. We figured out the problem is that Vzn offered to let me link my wireless id to my residential. Apparently the problem started there, and isn't yet resolved. I've talked to Vzn three times since the problem started; they aren't keeping me informed on what's going on. They just said "the back office is working on it, and they'll let you know when it's fixed". Haven't been able to access my Vzn email since 8 Feb. This is not acceptable. For the first time in 15+ years, I'm actively looking at the other carriers, and when I can get back into my email, I'm going to start moving my important accounts off Vzn. If I can't trust them to keep things running and keep me informed, then they obviously don't value me as a customer.

And to think I always think it is me! Eratic at best, but transfering off to another provider when the email is: is a challenge. I should just begin the process which my IT consultant says takes roughly a full year to migrate over so all accounts, online loads, etc.... that are used to recognizing the @ location to fully recoginze the new address and server.

Just because it 'pings' does __not__ mean the webmain server is up! The port may be blocked by some router or the IP address has been changed and the DNS doesn't know about it yet so the proper software isn't running on the machine that the DNS points to. This server has been down for at least a day.

Update. Receiving email has been throttled down to 2.0 mbps from 6.0 which had taken effect around Sept 2013. I call tech support weekly and send letters to corp offices in New York with zero help. Verizon is simply too big to bother with it's "small" customers.

Edit: Verizon internet customers simply need to call in and complain about slow email processing. Since they do not get a lot of calls on this issue, they do not put it high on the list of fixes. If it were disclosed to new customers I'd they most folks would opt for another ISP knowing this. This slow issue began in Sep 2012 and I have been attempting to get a fix completed ever since. This is not an isolated issue. This occurs with all Verizon customers who use Vz for their email. Try sending a big file to yourself and watch how long it takes to send. Then, watch how long it takes to come in, on average 2.0 mbps on a 50 mbps Fios connection is just dumb.

When opening email... its just a blank page where the emails should be. I can open contacts and calendar but no emails for over 24 hours

Can receive mail, but cannot send. Noticed first time this morning. Also noticed yesterday that You Tube videos and such were doing a lot of buffering.

Can't send via Outlook on Verizon FiOS. Recorded message claims system maintenance. Estimated completion time after 2 pm est on Sunday 01/05/2014. For real?

Email program can send but not receive via Thunderbird on computer or tablet. Web-based email unaffected. Started a few hours ago.
Edit: I meant the opposite - can receive but not send...

Outgoing email down since this morning on desktop iMac -- about 30 minutes ago, send/receive stopped working on iPhone5 as well. Data or wireless, no joy.
