Can't Access United States Postal Service - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Try alternative urls such as cns.usps.com, usps.gov

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

After entering in all details of shipment in Click-N-Ship, am given the error msg, "We are unable to find any available service options for this label, please review your label and try again." Have tried several addresses and it is giving the same response for each. It started doing this after 5 labels entered. Tried to check out with 5 labels created and given error msg "We are sorry but we were unable to process your order. Please re-edit your labels and try again."

Mike Beer said "If your on a MAC you can use 'Chrome' and you will be able to print labels." Two hours ago I could NOT print a label on chrome. My mac OS is up to date as well as my browsers, java, etc. I think what is happening is Clink-N-Ship doesn't work most of the time for most of the people, but occasionally some people have success. I have not been able to get Clink-N-Ship past the priority options. The only two priority options it gives me, in chrome, is "choose your own priority box" for $18** or window envelope, when I was trying to get to the regional rate boxes. I also couldn't get any priority options when I was trying to print out flat rate envelopes. In safari the priority options window is only a few pixels high, so you can't see any options at all. I've probably tried 50 times since Wednesday. I've been using Clink-N-Ship without a problem for over a year.

I usually don't have issues with the USPS site so this was quite a "surprise".
Thank you to whoever suggested the Ctrl F5 refresh. Could only get that page with everything down the left side but when I refreshed that page all was OK until I got that page again. Just keep on Ctrl F5 'ing until you are finish with your label.

Regional rates are back but the prices are wrong! I didn't notice this till after everything went through and now I am out $68.47, (YIKES!) for a Regional A box that should be $9.97. Also no history came up for any of my transactions but I did type in the numbers and it came up that way and I clicked on a refund so hopefully it did the refund correctly and I will get my $68.47 back in a few days. (shouldn't take that long to get a refund) Hopefully USPS will get it working

I get all the label info entered but click-n-ship will not give me the priority options to finish the label. Tried two other browsers, rebooted. Here is an unrelated question. If other shipping programs (sendIT for mac) will let you paste an entire name/address in, why does USPS make us enter each address bit into each field, which takes a long time? Do people put the name/address block into their address book and then select it from there, or do you enter each bit into each field manually? USPS needs to hire competent IT people!

Since yesterday morning I cannot even get the right page to load for shipping labels on my PC, on my tablets I can access the info and my address book but become stopped at using A or B regional box choice, you also cannot check the box about to say you are not shipping illegal substances. USPS.com is not working very well today. Charged me for labels that didn't print... rather good "runaround" trying to get into shipping history in order to print those labels. There was NO HISTORY and I do a lot of labels so now I'm really worried. Site on both Chrome and Firefox is just incredibly slow. Whatever they did last night broke something. Loads incorrectly (no stylesheet or HTML5, I assume?) in Chrome and Waterfox. Eventually loads in IE, but takes for-bleeding-ever, and I missed my window before the PO closes at 5.

Can we just roll back to pre-January 2014 USPS.com, please? These "upgratdes" have done nothing but cause problems. Every time they put one out, the system fails. Makes me wonder if anyone bothers to test them before they're applied or if they just cross their fingers and hope for the best. Hint: it's never the best.

My small business is now at a standstill. I have packages that need to go all over the US, Canada, Australia & Hong Kong and can't do anything. Unfortunately, I already charged my customers for the online shipping rate, and I'm not willing to cover the difference of paying at the post office, which is a lot for big packages. So... nobody gets anything, and I'll get a poor rating cuz of it. Arrggghhh!!!

Ridiculously difficult to get through click-n-ship. Site says unable to process payment, but email with payment confirmation. AND I cannot print the label, nor request a refund. Just hangs. Fridiculous.

Mercedes Tyson · 16 July 2014 - 12:09
United States · Time Warner Cable · Internet Explorer 11.0 on Windows

Is it even worth complaining about anymore? Anytime I get on this website I only expect problems. If the site actually works, I'm surprised. It's ridiculous. TODAY'S problem is that it takes ages to load (to the point where the site logs me out for being inactive) and when it does load, it takes me to a very basic looking coded screen with the correct colors, but nothing logical (at least not to my mind). I've tried clicking some of the options, with no response. I thought they had the site down last night to WORK on it, not DESTROY it even more. GET IT WORKING AND THEN LEAVE IT ALONE! Quit trying to alter it. I'm tired of being an unpaid Beta tester. Maybe I should start expecting my check in the mail...

I finally got the system to print online postage to get me past the message Kelley was getting but when it got to the next screen my shopping cart was empty so they whole process apparently failed.

This site is the worst. ALWAYS having an issue of some sort. Now I cannot complete my transaction and get a shipping label. Incompetent gov. employees.

And so the torture continues... for a second last week, they actually processed a couple of payments and I got excited that they fixed their fu@# up but NOOOOOOO... it is no longer taking any valid forms of payment, no matter what browser I use, what credit card I use, etc, etc. And, of course, they haven't responded to any of my e-mails to them. I now truly understand the phrase "going postal". It all makes sense now. Thank you, USPS Click N' Ship. You suck sweet-smelling and dirty donkey balls. So over this.

I live in Jacksonville, FL. I have been trying to print the label online. Everytime my request is denied with the message "your transaction cannot be processed at this time with this payment type". Anyone has any idea?

Takes forever to print a label. It wont go threw to the payment process and just times out. Has been going on for about a week now.

I usually create several labels at a time. For the past month or so, the first label I create from my address book does not populate the State so I have to put it in manually. There's no warning that the State didn't populate on that first label so after 8 or 10 labels have been created, none of the labels would add to my cart and it was not clear why not. It took me the longest time to figure out what was going on...

I have been printing labels/shipping flat rate from the USPS website for years, and a month ago it quit putting items in my cart. I enter in all the info..."zero items in cart". It disappears. Two emails and one call to tech support have gotten zero response. Total pain to have to take all of my stuff physically into the post office to ship it.

Still can't pay - tried 6 different forms of payment (ALL VALID!) and still gives me "unable to process this form of payment". I'm sorry.. I'm not trying to pay in goats or Bitcoins! I am using a MASTERCARD and an AMERICAN EXPRESS aaaaand my PayPal. Since it does this only on my huge batch orders, I am starting to smell a conspiracy since I am now obligated to go to my local Post Office and lose the $10 discount I would have gotten by the Click N Ship online. BOO!!! Two thumbs down to this new USPS web site. You should fire everyone who worked on your "revamped" site. Click N Ship worked perfectly before their shenanigans.

Since yesterday, site cannot process Paypal or Credit Card payments. Tried multiple methods and cards. Good way to lose lots of business if they can't process payment.

paypal.com/shipnow is not working either because it relies on USPS system.

USPS Click & Ship worst service ever. NEVER use the Package or Mail intercept option. It is a RIP-OFF. They NEVER intercept any mail but they will charge you for it. When you request for a refund, they say, well, we didn't say we can always intercept any mail but sorry NO REFUND.
