I would imagine that the longer the banks can delay your making withdrawls of any type(including purchases and bill pay) the more interest they make by holding your money. Hence the down site!!! |

...this is simply a matter of the institution our government awarded the contract to not having enough horsepower with their computer servers--people on disability, ssi, etc. need to check their balances on line, and the company/bank/financial institution with the govm't contract has not devoted enough computer resources to handle the load which is why your attempts to login time out and/or slow down at the beginning of the month. |

I have been using this card for 2 years after getting tired of bank fees and money being taken out of acct. without my knowing. The site has only been down 2x in 2 years. I never have any problem with it. I pay bills and do my shopping with out problems. Disability check has always been there on the 3rd of each month. On the 3rd. of the month is when problems seem to happen and I think its because everyone is trying to get on at the same time. It is cleared up that same day or the next. |

You can still check your balance via phone and I was still able to use my card to pay bills and buy what was needed at the stores. So at least that part is still available. |

There apparently was a recorded message stating that until the issue is fixed the debit cards will not work. That means no ATMs, no POS store purchases, no online purchases, and no Cash Advances. I tried calling just now, but I cannot even get a representative, it just keeps disconnecting me when I press options that require a live CSR. |

Consider this before you move your money---if you place your money in a regular account where you have other charges and bill collectors are trying to take your money... it's not protected in a regular bank account. The best feature about USDirectExpress - my funds are not co-mingled with other debts and it's just for receiving my disability so it's supposed to be protected. Read this first before you move your money. |

But it is beginning to appear they do not have the service representatives, or electronic sever capability to handle to handle any questions a person may have about their account information. I had this card for 3 years until I decided it is a pain in the butt. Alot of companies only take checking accounts for payment. I was getting money out of ATM, paying for a money order and ATM fees. It just was not worth it. I went an opened a checking account and now I get my check deposited into that account and pay my bills and use the ATM card. I ACCRUE INTEREST in my checking account. You do not with USDIRECTEXPRESS government rip off card. I think people do not understand that they do not have to have this assinine card just to get their benifits. YES THE SITE IS DOWN ON DEPOSIT DAY!!! hOW CAN I PAY MY BILLS ONLINE? They are morons and I was a moron to even use that card. |

i have used direct express for over 10 years with no problems except there is very little customer service and they are not the ones to call if your check isn't deposited on their card. You have to call Social Security. Ever since the mandatory issuance of these cards a few months ago, the website is very slow on the 1st or doesn't even work because of the overload of people with new cards. There is too much traffic at one time of everyone checking their balances. Later in the day it gets better. |

There is a severe problem with Direct Express, no way to talk to anyone, and they don't have a record of my SS#, and they have an important message when I use my card number, put on hold for an hour... no person. Then I finally spoke with someone who told me they suspected fraud in the fact a charge was attempted on my card in England, so they suspended my account, and they can't issue a new card until I talk to the Fraud Department, put on hold again for over 1/2 hour... Direct Express is a poorly run and inefficient company with no checks on it from Social Security (who told me in no uncertain terms) can't do anything to help. A major disgrace or rather another major disgrace perpetrated on citizens by a government that is quickly becoming the biggest joke in the world. |

Not only is the site down, ATM access is down, and no money was deposited to accounts. Very frustrating, especially when there are automatic debits for recurring bills set up. Now, there will be bounce fees from every, single vendor. Will USDirectExpress cover those costs? I think not. |

Well, I've had a direct express card for a couple of years now and their website goes down quite a bit. There were times when the social security checks were delayed due to them having technical difficulties or something. It's like finding a needle in a haystack to try to contact a real person. Apparently, there are some secret ways to get through to customer service that they keep hidden from customers for some reason. I had to call another bank to find out how to reach them and her advice was to hit the button to report a lost or stolen card and then wait for a customer service person to pick up. Another way I heard about through complaints and posts of other people who have been having trouble actually contacting a real person who works in customer service was given to them by the bank that issues the card and they said when it asks you to select 1 for english press 3. They make it extraordinarily difficult almost impossible to contact them about anything and my experience when I have found out how to do it by other people that they don't really act like they know what's going on. I've talked to several different customer service people there and they don't seem to even know how the card works or when their website is down. I felt it was really useless contacting them. Really shoddy service especially when the checks are posted late or their website is down. You have to go back to the social security office and show them a photo ID to be able to switch to a real bank account. I wouldn't suggest this service to anyone unless you're really bad with over drafting your bank account. Their website is down as I'm typing this and I've been trying to get through all morning. |

yes i'm having alot of problem's with direct express service's.. when my card got stolen and they sent me paper's to fill out.. and to get on the computer to get my transaction's for this form they sent me that i olny got 10 day's to fill out, and now there going to send me the trnsaction's that i need for this form which will be here in 5-7 business day's for them to get here. by then the first form they sent me will be no good or what?? call them a little bit ago. and they were going to transfer me to someone else that would help me or maybe just hung up.. i don't know.. i'm hoping to get my money back that was stolen off my card on directexpress card soon.. because it had my rent money on there, and after that i'm closing my account with directexpress.. i just had to put it out there.. because someone's not doing there job.. and i need to make sure this don't happen to me or anyone else that has the card if it end's up getting stolen.. because it happen's.. |
