spoke to direct express. l2 suspention means level 2 suspention. They said the issue is they sent a new card with the chip, and after so long of not activating it turns to suspention. i used my card last month. they said they sent it in august. simple solution was to answer some questions. they unsuspended current card, and will resend new card. everyone has to jave new card they said. even though i could use atm, couldnt order pizza and such

Not working in Utah. Can't get through to customer service. Auto pay didn't go through and it didn't work when I gave them my card number over the phone. Do they not understand what this is doing and why does it not tell us what's going on when we call customer service. That's the least they could do.

@will gilbreath, contact the V.A. and have them check into your file, to make sure that all of the paperwork was done correctly, thats what the issue was for me, someone made an error and didnt double check to make sure that everything was finallized

I first contacted Direct Express and my balance was okay I checked again and now they are pending holds between both sides I never got my money and I'm beinf told to wait or until corporate opens. According to what i just heard, that it is indeed a server issue and they are working to correct the problem. yes it is very irritating some of us cannot get our money right now. but like Scott Burnz just mentioned it is easily fixable. we just have to be patient. gf got thru and was told its a server issue with the bank the government uses for SSI. Seems they're coming back up slowly but I dont think it'd be crazy to think the rush of people looking to utilize their money at the same time, just after deposits cleared, overwhelmed the banks servers and forced a reset. Irritating but easily resolvable, just be patient

a $114.00 transaction was taken twice from my account by mistake. Its done on the end that charged me twice but I cant get ahold of direct express. They need to put that money back on my card. Ive been calling for two days and all I get is a recording that says they are very busy to call back another time! WTH...So again I tried calling back and I get a recording from verizon (daughters phone cant get my pre paid card for mine with out my money!) it says verizon wireless cant be completed as dialed. check online and see the status. Mine says L2 Suspention. wtf. Never it said that until money hit the card at 1am. Last month we are using this company. Card doesn't work at gas stations and Walmart anymore. Too many glitches and their bank/transaction server is still too small to keep up with the broad demand, tons of people want to spend their money at 1am when it hits the card.

Came home and after 12 calls, 2 disconnected and the others said busy try again one of the disconnected didnt disconnect until inspoke to an was back on card within 5mins, went to a different atm and card worked. I can see MY account, however when I went to pay my phone bill on the tmobile app it say an error occurred HOWEVER when I went onto the usdirectexpress site I saw that the payment went through but since its closing hours at tmobile couldn't talk to them nor talk to anyone at usdirectexpress since it had "a high number of calls" was able to get through got a rude woman that said before INTRODUCING herself "if you are calling in reference to the mass declines of MasterCard we are aware of it as is MasterCard who is working on..." blah blah blah I stated my issue and she said "We and MasterCard are aware of the declines" blathering on about the issues basically repeating what she stated and which I found rude along with her tone. I asked was this why the app would say error about my phone payment yet show that its pending cash payment on usdirectexpresses website, her response "probably, you'll have to check in the morning." well thanks for the help lady!

I did some checking and July 1st is the 4th quarter of the US Governments fiscal year, I think this is playing a part and if I am correct I should be able to access money at 12:00PM PST

We finally just got it to work. Thank GOD!! I hope it starts to straighten itself out for all of you. This is ridiculous. We depend on this money. I sure know my Mama and Dada aren't paying my rent, bills, or feeding my kid. This happened last year I see, wouldda been nice to maybe have been given a heads up or some sort of arrangement could have been made to counteract this crap. But no. Thank you Direct Express, and next time I speak to a rude, ill mannered, outsourced employee, I will be sure to give it back to them.

@Car We have no idea, but the same thing happened the EXACT same tinme and day last year... Not sure what the issue is with July 1st but I think this is an issue they need to find a solution for.

Having issues again I see? My fiance and our roomie just went to go get food and it was declined everywhere, our roomie however was even more unlucky as the cashier at a store told her it was declined, when she came home to look however her card WAS charged and so she called the store to say hey, I want what I bought since my card was charged and he said theres nothing he can do about it LOL pathetic.

Edit: UM yeah and imagine that the SAME day LAST year, NO JOKE this happened scroll down to see me old comments! WTF

Government and barack hussein! I overlooked this bs before I signed up. My card has a some money on it yet it keeps declining! A merchant can call mastercard, if they know what they are doing. My insurance company got a decline, she said i'll take care of it. One minute later she had the payment! ONE MINUTE IT IS 2014!!!

I have a lot to say about Direct Express that I did not authorize Social Security to go thru them. I put my bank acct # when I signed up for SS & I also called them a head of time to change to my checking acct instead of savings. They wrote down correct & verified it with me. I got no direct deposit on April 9th was told that it went thru Direct Express & gave me #. Its a MC debit I told them I don't have a card, we mailed it out March 6th, let me check. I see the card was never activated. Will mail out again take 5 to 10 days to get (must be coming from across the ocean). Today is 10th day no card in mail. We can 2 day ship it to you by ups for $13.50. What kind of crap is this going on? I want my damn money. They told me I can pay the $13.50 or $1.50 for them to wire my money to bank. No other company does that. So today at 4-19 256p talked to Jessica-supv. Didn't like her attitude( bet if it was her money she would be upset too). Wait till Monday or Tuesday. If you don't get it call us. Another 5 to 10 days or $13.50 for 2day by Ups. Social Security has my name, addr, & phone#.... They should have called me or sent me a letter not just do what they please with someone's money. What kind of racket are they running? I had something I was going to buy while it was on sale at a excellent price. I waited 66 years to get my SS & they screwed it up. Yes, I am livid about this & I will tell others all about Direct Express because they are a joke. And Social Security you need to get your act together.

Direct express, rude customer service!!!
I help my father out with his bills, Couple of months ago his account was compromised! I caught it.. checking his account now, I tried to log in and forgot his password, so I clicked on get new password and they emailed me a temp. Well, the temp doesn't work! tried so many times and got locked out! and they want me to get a new temp password! *frustrated* I called the phone number and they said that they can't speak to a third party anymore.

My father is hard of hearing and doesn't know anything about the computer and how things work! he tried explaining to them...and the lady hangs up on him!!! called again and I was telling my father what to say, she tells my dad that He can not repeat what I am telling him! He is got so upset! he threw the phone down n said what the hell...

I answered all their dam questions! It would be so much easier if they talked to you!
