Fix DNS Problems

Since May 16th, last Friday, I am having great difficulty accessing my SunTrust bank accounts online. Numerous attempts over the past 6 days have been successful twice. It is now possible to reach www.SunTrust.com on the 1st attempt. Entering usedid & password to get to my accounts returns "Problem loading page, The connection has timed out." Another pass at accessing the home page, www.suntrust.com returns the same message.

A tech support rep at TWC (my ISP) gave me the following IP address for SunTrust: 167.181.46.143. Entering that in the address bar returns a page which says "This connection is untrusted"

A ping on that IP address returns the following: "17 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 15999ms"

I have cleared the cache, erased all cookies and rebooted my laptop to no avail. I have been on the phone with Tech support from Suntrust and Time Warner cable, to no avail.

My laptop is a Dell 1720 running a Linux based OS, Ubuntu 14.04. My wireless router is a LevelOne 6013. I have an old desktop upstairs running Windows 2000 Professional. I have attempted to access SunTrust from both of these machines via wireless and wired direct and have only succeeded twice over the past 6 days.

Of literally the 10 to 20 password protected websites I visit on a daily basis, Suntrust is the only troublesome site. ALL others are working perfectly with no anomalies noted including, ironically enough, the Suntrust Mortgage site which I can access with absolutely no problem. A random walk through more than 80 password protected sites was 100% successful and all via wireless.

I am currently at a loss. Stay tuned.

I'd been unable to access online banking on my laptop for nearly a week. I'd been using Internet Explorer. Today I switched to Google Chrome and logged on with no problem. Switching browsers might not work for everyone, but it could be worth a try. It worked for me. Good luck!

The post on the top of this page says the website is down just for me. Evidently not based on all of these posts. For a bank that pushes GREEN B.S. so much, they are putting my billing due dates at risk with this 5 day downtime non sense. When I have to print checks in a last minute emergency because they can't meet their own GREEN agenda, that's when I think it's time to go back to paper and switch banks

suntrust was down yesterday, I called customer service and they confirmed it was having problems. Now this 'checker' says service is operating, it must be my computer. Bulls@#t!!! they must have the same tech support that is in charge of getting people registered for ObamaCare. Time to look for another bank !!!

I have tried getting online at suntrust.com on 3 different computers and my phone... this bank is continuely causing problems for me... they don't post DEBIT transactions for up to 5 days after the transaction.. I looked at my account last night and had X ammount of dollars looked less then 10 mins later and had a totally different amount.. this has caused me to be overdrawn and even though I got their overdraft protection(which is a rip off) they have charged me $144 for being overdrawn for 2 days....like wtf? This is in my opion the worst bank I have ever dealt with in my life.. my account shows me having 3 different available balances...

Just spoke to a representative using the 1.800.382.3232 that was recommended (thank you!). They confirmed the Suntrust server went down around midnight and they hope to fully resolve the issue by 12pm EST. According to the rep, everything will process as it normally would but delayed. Until it's fully resolved you may only see partial bank account info, which is not only inaccurate but a bit discomforting as well. I think Suntrust should've made a full disclosure or statement on their site about this and not called it "scheduled maintenance", that was incredibly misleading.

I reported this to the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) earlier. Nobody is reporting on this and it's a pretty big issue as it's nationwide and impacts a lot of people. Public pressure is what changes f*&k ups like this and keeps them from reoccurring.

800.382.3232 called this number and got through to someone. they stated that sometime last night something malfunctioned and deposits were not automatically credited like they usually do. Stated that they did not notice problem til this morning and they are now manually processing deposits and should be up within next hour. They were able to see that I had a deposit waiting and it just had not been credited to my account yet. Hope this helps!

This is ridiculous! I've been trying to locate my paycheck deposit since 1AM this morning to no avail. For Suntrust to post a message stating this is "scheduled maintenance" is either fraudulent or simply not true. My paycheck posts like clock work and my mortgage is due. I will likely consider switching banks after this STUNT. Phone lines ring and then just hang up on you, the site is down, this is inexcusable. Watch them try to charge me a thousand fees on top of this!

I was able to get through to my local bank who said our VA Benefits were not deposited yet, but the VA says the payment was made. I bet the same problem is happening to all of you others who receive VA Benefits. The money is not there. Something is wrong with Suntrust and they need to pony up and tell whats going on right now.

Suntrust really needs to fix their web/app problems immediately. In this era people aren't going to bank at a place where modern technology fails to work. Plus since in-store hours are coincidentally the same time everybody works you can't even bank there so online is the only way to go for a lot of people.
