Can't Access Stamps - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Try alternative urls such as customer.stamps.com

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

What a rip-off!!! I happen to use them 1 time and did not realize that they automatically started billing my credit card monthly for $15.99 for the last 2 years, until I finally noticed the charge. I cancelled and ask for a re-fund that was ignored with double talk and no good reason given.

Creative Clam, I am amazed at how pathetic you are using this forum to spew your nasty little hatred, whilst at the same time berating others for their "repeats" of comments. To your point, yes, I am sure buying "postage another way" for someone like you who has small sales volumes is easy; however, for most here who have real businesses and high sales volumes, that is simply not an option. Oh, and may I suggest; before you put on an act and pretend that you know better than everyone here with your lowly talk of providing "education" to others, that you read 'Title 39, Section 101.1' of 'The United States Code' - At the very least we may be afforded a rest from your pointless comments while you are looking it up.

Stamps.com had an issue early this morning that caused some log-in and other issues in our service. Our engineers have resolved most of the issues now and most systems should be operating correctly or coming online shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I'm so sick and tired of troubleshooting this program. I waste so much time. I've had it. I'm going to research another way to do postage because this is beyond ridiculous.

Allen Walden · 16 December 2013 - 07:49

I'm receiving two different errors. One is a generic "cant log in right now" and the other one is telling me "incorrect password". --- I've seen this happen before. It usually goes away within 15 minutes or so, but this one is lasting longer than usual.

Douglas R. DeMotta · 16 December 2013 - 07:44

From Massachusetts - 10:38am EST - "Firewall / Internet Connection" issue -- I have tried on multiple PC's from multiple networks - This is NOT a user issue -- THE STAMPS.COM SERVER IS DOWN! Jamie Justin Bayleigh · 16 December 2013 - 07:22

Steve Coper · 16 December 2013 - 07:14

The availability of this site, particularly because it is a subscription-based monthly payment and actual postage costs is substandard. Where is all the subscription money going, if not to availability of the application and corresponding infrastructure? Get your act together before customer defections occur! Better yet, let's have a competitor offering similar services!

Jeff Hannes · 16 December 2013 - 06:59

Me too Dale, firewall error. I called up and there is a message they recorded stating we should try again every 30 minutes. Nothing we can do but wait, it is unfortunate to happen today.

... and the USPS isn't down. Gina Brake, it's Stamps.com that's down & the CEO is Ken Mcbride. The "CEO" of the USPS is John Potter & yes they have federal employees. Do you rant about how awful the military is too? Cause it's one of those nasty government run agencies as well.

Creative Clam · 16 December 2013 - 05:50

FrankandMarla Wiesehan · 9 December 2013 - 09:44

Having problems, their msg keeps saying it's going to send our postage to our account soon, nothing for almost one hour :(

We have a feeling it is down due to the amount of people on the server - it's likely getting banged with requests and their site can't handle it. Dang :(

Stamps.com software is far better than USPS, but because it costs $16 or more per month, you have to ship a fair amount of packages to make it worthwhile.
