Fix DNS Problems

Ray in New Gloucester Maine. email has been down for the past 36 hours. No access to web mail at all and recorded message from TWC says "they are aware and activley working on it, but no ETR. TWC network has been up and down like a yoyo for the past 4 weeks... but this is really bad...suggest they stop spending money on ads telling how good they are and spend the money on maintenance. No choice now time to turn TWC off and go to alternate IP and email. Cant run a business this way!!!

Well email comes in, but I still can't access folders, sent, junk or can I delete anything. So pretty much NOT WORKING!!! This has been a week now...

Edit: Well just opened my email to see that TWC has said all email is up and running now. Well... no it's not, as before I still cannot access my sent, junk or folders. I can see my email and sometimes I can look at a few but then it all just stops and the wheels keep turning.

Edit: I just received an email that email is up and running and working fine. Well no it's not. I still have no access to any folders, junk, delete, or sent. I can look at email but that's all.

BEWARE -- Seems like RR is up, but it is trying to deliver over 2200 emails to me. I know they are duplicates, probably 2000+ plus. Just makes it a nightmare to go through them. This has happened before with them, with that "migration" last year that I was not warned about.

I am so sick and tired of the UNRELIABLE service I get through Roadrunner! Over the past two weeks I have had it down at least four times, losing EVERYTHING that was there: pictures, reservations, confirmations, Minutes to meetings, boarding passes, etc. I am so sick of the run around I get from Time Warner!!! FIX IT AND FIT IT CORRECTLY!!!

Edit: If there was any other service in my hour, you can bet I'd leave Time Warner and all their services in a heartbeat! Most unreliable service and business I've ever seen. We're a "captured audience", they know it and don't care! With what these techs get paid certainly there should be SOMEONE capable of finding out what the problem is. Are we going to be compensated in any way for the inconvenience as well as all the times we haven't had access to our emails account? How much do you want to bet the answer is NO!!!

RR is up now 6/19/2014. I can receive mail using windows live mail, but I can only receive when I start Live mail. After the first time, I get errors and can not receive mail. You still have problems after all these days.

Well, I am getting emails from my personal account but NO EMAILS from my business account. It is my secondary account. The last CHAT I had stated that all emails are on the server and I will get them as soon as they have corrected the problem. They could not tell me what that will be. It has been 10 days now. My RR account stopped recognizing my password a few days ago on my lap top and PC, but works on my cell. I have tried to reset my password a few times and a message states that it has been done successfully, but when I try to sign on, I get the same "do not recognize" password notice. My cell continues to work, so not sure what password is my password now. What is going on?

TWC finally sent a cowardly ("Do Not Reply") email saying they're aware and working on the problem. They sent it to the account that is out of service (!!).

BEWARE of when they finally "fix" it -- you may get 1593 previously downloaded emails all at once sent to your phone or Outlook, like I did last year when they were "migrating" to a new server. I'm sure they have more glitches up their sleeves for us top customers.

(BTW, mine are forwarded OK to GMail, but a month ago I had a similar problem with it, too...)

Well, here it is another day without email. At least I was able to access it via webmail but it will only allow me to read one and then is freezes up and you have to close the browser and TRY to go back in to retrieve another. Thanks Bright House in Port Orange, Florida.

AND if I try to reply, there is nothing in the sent box so I have no idea if the email was sent or not. So frustrating!!!

I guess as long as only 10% of the customers are affected it is not a big deal to TWC. However if you are one of them it is a disaster. I can see why TWC is the lowest rated company for customer service. Email in SC is still down and Business customer is also affected.

I have been having problems with my RR e-mail for a week. I have called three times, and each time was told that the server is having problems and is being worked on. For a week! When I try to get into my live mail accounts now I am presented with two windows. The first says it is checking for new messages, and will go on checking indefinitely until I stop it. The next screen that comes up is an error screen. For good measure i sometimes get a screen asking for my username and pw. When I finally get into livemail, the inbox may or may not be working. My webmail takes forever to load. What is going on?

For me, my mail email (the business one, of course) stopped late Weds 6-11. I'm in So. Calif. It has never been back up (mail is automatically forwarded to my phones). My two subaccounts with TWC work OK. I just hate to have to log in to RR.com because it has to be the slowest and worst webmail server around. And I abhor answering email from that site (much prefer my Outlook) or my phone servers. I am now getting my mail account forwarded to Gmail. Never thought I would appreciate Gmail like I do now. Remember when calling Tech Support not to get angry at them -- not their fault. But ask for a supervisor, and then the supervisor's supervisor. And demand a hefty refund or credit.

I had log in issues most of May, no access for 2 days the first week of June, and no service since last Wednesday... enough already. This is what happens when (1) a merger is in the works and employees give up or sabotage, and (2) there is no competition because of those mega mergers. I have many clients quite angry and me. They have different servers so they don't "buy" my excuses.

We are also in SW Ohio and have not had consistent access to Roadrunner email for the past week. Very frustrating, as we are dependent on daily emails for my husband's business needs. We just called Time Warner and the automated response indicated there were issues and to reset our modem. This did not work. And now I can't access Webmail any longer. Up and down, up and down. And it looks like the www.rr.com site AGAIN has a "mail is having problems" message. Even that message goes up and down, up and down.

Edit: I will note again that I can/am still forwarding email from my broken primary email address to a working secondary email address. I'm using the "Foward and keep on server" option when forwarding. This seems to get the emails copied over to my working account... and it may serve as a useful workaround for others. I don't think I have lost any emails since I set up forwarding, but there is no way to be sure of course. All my test messages always go thru when I send to my broken primary account: I can always read them in my secondary mailbox. This might work if you forward to a gmail account or any other external account, but I haven't tried that specifically..

Thank God I've got Road Runner Business Class email service. I just don't know how I could run my business without it! I'm sure the documents sent to me days ago by the Federal Government that I need to complete and return can wait. Customer e-mailed orders that need to ship today can wait as well. Customs clearance and orders for raw materials can wait as well. Can you imagine what the TWC merger with Comcast will do to customer and internet service! This has been an ongoing problem yet to be resolved. And the internet speed is laughable. Thanks to my government I have only one other choice for internet service locally and that is AT&T which our company left to go to TWC! And we wonder why America is falling behind.

this is a bizarre problem... I have my primary email created by RR and 4 sub-accounts created by me and using Outlook to pull messages. This weekend all 5 accounts worked great. Last week and this morning all 4 sub-accounts are working great however my primary account is returning a connection to server was interrupted in Outlook. Next time email is working I'am going to configure email to auto forward from my primary account to my trash account. Seems like TWC is disabling our primary accounts for some reason... WHY??? I also called the 800 number on my TWC bill last week and complained like hell; result a significant credit on next month's bill.

RR e-mail is down again this morning after working most of the weekend and also getting e-mails forwarded from mid-week last week. Error message continues to say Server is not responding.

Edit: Now error says "Mail Storage Services Unavailable." 9:03 a.m. central time; SE Wisconsin.

Worked fine over weekend, although I receive quite a few messages dated 6/11 and 6/12. Worked ok first thing this morning but is now down again. Not happy with TW!

Just received an e-mail dated June 11. still missing several daily e-mails from a week ago. When I log on to TWC E-mail it shows I do not have any incoming & also no contacts which I have both of. I live near Albany NY

Older emails (sent during the outage) appear to be trickling in. This would imply that they have gotten all the servers back online. Hope others are seeing the same - and working email again for all? I don't think all of my test messages have come thru, so maybe the pipe is still flushing...

Suzanne Rapaelian Larson: No doubt about that. The same thing happened when RR converted to TW a few months ago. At that time, we converted back all Financial notifications back to Snail Mail. My wife just doesn't want to change all of her email addresses. Eeek!

While RR appears to be up in SE Wisconsin since Saturday morning 6.14.14, I am finding out that several e-mails sent to me over the past week are "missing." They did not bounce back to the sender or come through to me. Grrrr...

I am located in SW Ohio. My email has been down almost continuously for approx. 4 days. Like another person stated, it may come up for a moment and allow a couple of emails through but has been down most of the time. I have called and reported it and had a 'chat' session this morning with them. They admit they are having problems but can give me no estimated time for when their repair will be completed. They did assure me though that all the emails are 'queuing' and I will not lose any emails-that they will all come through once the problem is resolved. At this point, I am not a happy customer.

Day 5 of no email service in upstate NY. It actually was up for a few minutes this morning but with only one incoming new email, NO old emails, and NO FOLDERS !!! Aaach !!!

"Technical support", and I use the term generously, indicated to me today that "some" of their servers are back online, but clearly not all. This person also indicated a strong liklihood that mail has not been queueing and will not be delivered. I also had a chat engineer tell me "No worries. All queued email will be delivered when the "cluster" is restored". "Cluster" was exactly the word I was looking for... Believe who you will, but I'm pretty sure that senders have not been getting bouncebacks for non-delivery... and thus email has been going straight into the "bit bucket" and are lost.

San Diego Roadrunner Email error message: Mail storage system is unavailable, try again. I've been trying again now for 3-4 days and receive emails only sporadically. Sometimes I can pick up current messages off my phone, but sometimes can't even access WebMail. I bet the problem is much more widespread than just the 8 users you indicate.

So anyone know the actual status of RR email? The "mail is having problems" message is gone from www.rr.com, and I *seem* to be getting test messages that I send to myself (last night and this morning), and a few from others again, but what about queued email from the past three to four days? Will we see any of it? Many are reporting mail is gone from their mail folders (webmail) as well. Is that true for anyone here? All in all, this could not have been handled any worse by the companies involved. IF fixed, a message should be put on the web site that it is resolved, and any data impacts, etc. You just don't remove a message without any explanation and leave us twisting and wondering.
