We have tried pinging Register.com website using our server and the website returned the above results. If register.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access Register.com - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

We also had a total failure on the 27th Feb! ALL our internal DNS collapsed as we were pointing it ALL at register.com for our services.Total server farm collapse. Only noticed on 28th that register.com was down due to NOT seeing ANY external records for all of our sites! 2 days of pain! Thanks!

My emails are still not working from last 3 days and they are not responding to my complaints that are lodged. They keep me on hold for a long time and then they say they will pass the information to the expert and it will be resolved within 24 hors which turned into more than 72 hrs now ! this is shame for such a famous company Register.com

Its down. Seems it ok to say "again", reading the history of comments here. How on earth can a "professional" registrar keep on like this?

boy I'm I glad to switch over to GoDaddy.com. I had email problems at Register for over 1.5 years since they started migrating to promail. Every time I called they told me "we are about done". They read from a script when asked a question. I could not even edit my emails properly before sending. Even simple tasks like copy and paste by mouse were not working. Spell check was a problem too and paragraphing. Guys, I hate to say this but these are the signs of a dying company. Pick up your pieces and run before it's too late.

I have had there service for one month and it has been nothing but issues. ;-( Down again today. I should have sent with GoDaddy.com

We have two commercial Word Press sites with register.com and both have been up and down for the past two weeks (www.m2m-dynamics.com and www.apollometro.com)... The customer service kept saying that it should be fixed and after multiple complaints they passed me over to a manager who was able to provide better service. He explained that the Word Press sites were being hacked, crashing their servers. He offered to switch me to a new server that helped for about a week and now I'm having the same issue. I am using a program called uptime robot and finding my sights down at least 4x per day for at least 15-20min. This is not acceptable! I will be moving to a new hosting company next week. I would suggest anyone having similar issues to complain and expedite your complaint to a manager and if the problem happens again switch providers. IF you are new and looking for a hosting company DO NOT USE REGISTER.COM!

Melanie Hardy · 12 August 2013 - 14:01

register.com has the nicest customer service agents. they can only do what they are told and i think some people forget that they are people. so yes it may suck that your website or email is down and that your business relies on it, but when you do call to yell, remember those people have lives outside of their job, and can only handle so much. don't be a bully.

Christophe Loiron · 31 July 2013 - 11:26

Do your business a favor and switch to a reliable web hosting service. Register.com is the worst. Nothing but issues and no support. They tell you your site has been hacked and you need to fix it, when the problems are from their end. Migrate!

Edna Nakamoto · 31 July 2013 - 10:19

Now our entire website is has been down as well as all of our operations. The only good news is that we have been preparing for move. This is unbelievable!!!!

Colleen Huntington Ward · 30 July 2013 - 10:58

Edna, we are also experiencing Register's server issues for 4 days now; went down on Saturday, July 27th. Our site is up, but the shopping cart is not. We're watching dollars fly out the window in advertising, payroll and lost sales!

Edna Nakamoto · 29 July 2013 - 06:45
United States · Comcast Cable

Our website, hosted on register.com has been down for several days. Register.com says that the server has been hacked. NOT good.

This is unacceptable. Will we be given a refund or credit for the downtime? no. ugh.

Charlie Tanner · 8 October 2012 - 17:21

I feel good now. I was wondering why i couldn't access my site on the school's computers. It sucks.. but I thought it was just my site specific. :/

Alex Newton · 8 October 2012 - 09:11

Well, here we go again. Register.com is once again down.

Jason J Riker · 8 October 2012 - 08:41

so why when all we did was purchase a Domain Name from them, (they are not hosting anything), does DNS stop working?? That crap is supposed to go to other DNS' all over. Friggin BS... maybe i missed something but i dont think so.

Alex Newton · 8 October 2012 - 08:39
·

When you reach them they won't be any help to you. They don't know anything technically and they can only place you into a different phone queue.

Nicola Sugden · 8 October 2012 - 08:28
·

thanks for info alex, i can't even get customer service!

Alex Newton · 8 October 2012 - 08:24
·

Site is up again but still no access to email. This is ridiculous.

Alex Newton · 8 October 2012 - 08:20
·

I contacted register.com customer service and they refused to say what the problem was, actually stating they had no idea on root cause. I also was unable to pin them down on an ETR.

Nicola Sugden · 8 October 2012 - 08:19
·

Oh boy its so difficult running a business without email - why don't the company post on here to let us know when its going to be back up
