Can't Access Regions Bank - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

We have had problems with both of our accounts at Regions all centering around the Online banking and their Phone app. I have reported the problem several times to them that the phone app and online are not reflecting true information. In a space of 15 minutes one night I got 3 different totals for one of the accounts. They have serious problems with these services. Because of the inaccurate information or totals we had an issue come up. They want to charge fee's for their mistakes and then not refund them when its proven to them that there was an issue with their side of things. I was told that the online and phone app go down EVERY night for maintenance....FUNNY I have never had any other bank go down EVERY night. Nor do our other banks show incorrect information or balance amounts everyday...or change several times in a space of minutes. We have never bounced anything or had NSF problems till we have had this bank account and this online banking and phone app issue. Their response....Us customers should feel privileged that they offer these services FREE. So we shouldn't complain too much. It was also inferred that its my fault for not keeping a hard/written copy. I am so sorry I thought your online and phone app services were correct seeing as you do maintenance EVERY night. I depended on my other banks and never had an issue.

Seriously? Again? Wth? One of the worst online banking sites/banks in the nation! Clearly, Regions Bank has a problem 'getting it up' and 'keeping it up'! Hey Regions, get some vi*gra for your IT staff! Bwahahaha! 'Staff'!

Lue de Lue · 31 July 2013 - 09:38

It's down AGAIN right this minute. BUT, it should be back on in 30 minutes. Yeah, right. Then how long will it be up. This has been since the "new" improvements were made which I don't like. I'm old, BUT, I'm flexible and can with the flow. I have already figured out the new system, just don't like it because of the way they are doing pending payments.

And, no, it's not down just for me. I just called, and they said it was up, BUT, hey, then decided they would check. Sure enough, yes, it is down.

Angela Morgan · 26 July 2013 - 12:31
United States · AT&T U-verse

No they would definitely not do any system updates in the middle of a business day! I talked to my branch manager and he said it was a DoS attack. My checkcard didn't work for a couple of hours but it's working now.

Linda Kirkland · 26 July 2013 - 11:16

I called my branch and spoke to a teller. She said what they have been told is that Regions is doing an update on their "bank enhancement systems." What that entails they do not know. Nor could she give me an ETA on when the system will be back up. Now we know something more than we did before. Doesn't help getting into our accounts, though. Hopefully, they will be back up sometime today. I hope!

Adrienne Lambert Colletti · 26 July 2013 - 11:11

The site is up, however you can not log into your account. Highly inconvenient!

Linda Kirkland · 26 July 2013 - 10:56
United States ·

ADDENDUM: They give you an 800# to call for problems of this kind. Both the regular "Visa" 800# (800-295-4472) is constantly busy along with the "problem contact #" (800-472-2265). Even though this website is listing the website is "Up", it is apparently not up for their account holders! ...AT LAST! I finally got through to Regions 800-472-2265. The automated system stated, "They are experiencing problems on their on-line system". Gives you a choice to select inquiring on the phone, but takes you back around in a loop to restate system problems. Using the usual 800# gets you into the phone system, but only gives you info. on what your balance was BEFORE the problems started. REGIONS, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND TELL US WHAT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING! WE ALL DEPEND ON OUR ACCOUNTS FOR UP TO DATE INFO.!!!!

Devin Andrea Scribe · 26 July 2013 - 10:55

Just called my local branch to see if the check cards are still working, considering the site is still down. After a brief hold she informed me that nothing is working at the moment, but that you can still utilize the in-person tellers to withdraw and deposit.

David Hunke · 26 July 2013 - 10:44

Tried to log in several times and get error messages or system down message. i tried to call several Regions Bank numbers and nobody will answer. It is like trying to talk to a real person at a federal government office - can't be done. Regions should be more sensitive to folks instead of stonewalling and putting their collective heads in the sand.

Linda Kirkland · 26 July 2013 - 10:36
United States ·

Tried repeatedly since very early this morning to access website to see bank account. No go. Connection error message on cell phone and internet. Several minutes ago, I saw that the site was down according to "". Now it says it's up, but not for "Me". Obviously, it's not just ME! This is ridiculous! Regions has a responsibility to its' account holders to list a problem on the internet, or if they're working on the website, in a message on the internet search engines, at the very least. What's going on, Regions?!

Martha Rodriguez · 26 July 2013 - 10:34
United States · Comcast Cable

Same thing here. I get the same error message. But when you call the number every option seems to be an automated response. I can't get a live person on the phone. This was super embarrassing. I paid for my lunch with my regions card and the delivery person said the card had not gone through. This is awful.

Troy Lebo · 26 July 2013 - 10:29

Don't freak out like I did and think that some way or another something hit my bank and got all the money in it. I have a high unpaid hospital bill that I pay $20 a month on and I keep getting notices that I need to pay more and I thought for sure they had did something legally to my count to get what money I had in there but no it's just that Regions is down again and no ones bank cards are working. Thank God I wasn't having lunch out with friends and ended up after the meal to not be able to pay....come on regions you make enough money to prevent this from happening so often, I get every once in awhile but this is just to often for such a big institution that they need better servers or something!

Jacquie Forrester · 14 May 2013 - 17:29

Isabel Lahens · 2 May 2013 - 13:44

ARGHH regions is ridiculously slow, especially today. I can log in (sometimes) but then making a payment is impossible, server keeps timing out...I need more reliable online banking! This makes paying cash almost preferable.

Jesse Green · 17 April 2013 - 11:37

Pat Trish Wiedman · 16 April 2013 - 17:42

Cynthia Danner Haley Reid · 16 April 2013 - 17:22

As of 7:18 pm cdt the website is still down and they won't admit the real problem. Their customer service people, when you finally get them say it is system maintenance and said it would be back up by the close of business today (7 pm). Well it's not. They need to have the courage to admit that they screwed up and not try to hide it!

Mike Helms · 16 April 2013 - 14:37

If you type the following IP address in your web browser you should be able to access the site. At least it worked for me.

Pam Smith Fulmer · 16 April 2013 - 14:08

Regions is still down!!! I just called and a guy said they were experiencing some minor problems. Ya think??? I'd call it more than minor. He also, of course, couldn't tell me when the site would be back up. He was the worst customer service professional I've ever spoken to.

Joan Kosola · 16 April 2013 - 11:26

It takes forever to get from one view to the next... something is going on. I have never had this problem before. Regions needs to recognize there is a problem and fix it!

Thomas Twitty · 16 April 2013 - 10:54

Is the site under attack or did some IT / Account forget to renew the domain. It looks like that is what happened for I check registration last night and tried to buy the site. They did renew it early this morning but it takes a while to populate. Some dumb ass should be fired.

Roger Simon · 16 April 2013 - 09:43

Regions is down because they FORGOT to renew their domaine. If you google "who is" and then enter you will see that the domaine expired on Sat 4/13/13. They renewed it on Monday 4/15/13 for 10 years after they started having problems.

Now everybody is out of luck until the domaine can come back up and registar. This can take a long time. Until then my bills go unpaid because they are all in their system and I have no paper bills because these days everything is paperless.

I guess it is a good idea to keep those paper statements coming in the mail. Heads need to roll for something this dumb to have happened.

Brandie Nicole Kay · 16 April 2013 - 09:41

I can't log onto my regions account from my home internet but when I teether my phone I can log on that way. Anyone know if its a problem with Regions or if its ith Excedes internet service?

My Kapersky Safe Money app has been telling for a least a month that Regions website certificate was expired. I have 4 Regions accounts and my business hosts web sites too. Regions allowed their domain name to expire on Saturday 04/13/2013. It looks like they renewed it over the weekend (or maybe today) for 10 years. Someone should be reprimanded for this, it's just stupid.
