Fix DNS Problems

As all the rest, I have been unable to use Netflix for a week using my smart Sony DVD player. I get the opening screen where the bars scroll across as it loads but it doesn't scroll. After I time, it asks if I want to try again or quit. Then the player is locked up and I have to unplug it. Every other app works using the internet but NETFLIX. There was one day where Netflix had a message across the screen saying that they knew they were having a problem with Smart devices but now they disavow any blame.

Got Netflix back up and running myself by doing this.. Turn off TV and unplug the power source for about 10 seconds, plug back in and turn on TV with remote power button, wait for 15 minutes and check Netflix. Got it from troubleshooting website and it worked by rebooting... who knew!

Can't get Netflix at all on my TV for 2-3 days now. I don't even get the red opening banner. Nothing. I'm already frustrated with months of frequent--almost daily--connection problems, interruptions, erroneous error messages. There's nothing wrong with my internet connection or network settings. They all check out in diagnostics and I *can* get Amazon. There's nothing wrong with my Blu-Ray player. Sometimes when Netflix malfunctions like this, it will cause the player to freeze up and have to be rebooted. Clearly there's a major problem going on, whether it's due to Netflix or the ISPs or whatever, I don't know, but with these continuous problems and no response or feedback or even acknowledgment from the company, I think it's probably time for all of us to call it quits and hope that a competitor can do better.

Fourth day without Netflix. Still saying I'm not connected to internet, but I can get it online, so that can't be the issue. Checked wifi and it's all good. Why would mine be down and my neighbour's be working? I have smart tv and have had this problem before, but resolves within 24 hours, not this time. It's frustrating because I love Netflix, but if this keeps happening, then we'll have to rethink it. It's cheap, but if it doesn't deliver it doesn't matter how much you pay.

For your blu-ray and streaming devices - deactivate the device and reactivate... this clears it and allows it to resume working. This is usually located in the settings of the device itself. It works for me everytime. Good luck!

Good to know that others are having problems with netflix.ca as well. Still does not make it work but reassuring we are not alone.

This all started about one week ago today, Friday, April 4. It was up and down all week. My wife used it in the daytime but at night it has not been working. We even tried a newer Sony Blu-Ray player from Wallymart. All it did is show that there were four netflix servers and none working! So since the new box did not work we returned it. Tried everything else. It was NOT us it is them and they will not admit it.

"Network error has occurred." They told me to reboot modem, router, cable box, blu-ray player and then try again. Well first of all if your internet connection is working AND you can get Netflix on your computer, then the network has to be working! What is not working must be Netflix's servers to TV viewing.

Some of you I see had the problem earlier than we did. we are into the April 3- to now April 10, 2014 and it will not come on. With all the messing around nothing made it any better. But lo and behold about 9:30 PM last Friday on it came. Why don't they just admit like the cable companies that they are having outages and explain why??? I appreciate honesty not pretending it could be something else.

CS rep said perhaps your internet provider had an outage. I reminded her that did not make sense since when it did not work thru Blu-ray and TV, but it DID work on the internet then obviously the internet is not down! They are!

Netflix was working great until yesterday, when I was suddenly unable to connect on my TV. I tried several times. The problem persists into today and I have tried resetting the device, disconnecting and reconnecting from wireless, turning it off and back on again, etc.
