Can't Access Netflix - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Try alternative urls such as movies.netflix.com

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

Netflix just stopped working. it wouldn't load any shows. it said try again later. i checked my internet source and it is running faster then ever. my modem is wired and so is the device im trying to watch it on. i even restarted the device and am now writing this on the same device. so nothing on my end is wrong. and according to this site netflix is up and says its down for me only. i have been a customer for a few years and this has happened a bunch of time. normally after one of their pointless updats which didnt add anything new except the color when you sign in. i have talked to them in the past and they dont care if their down or their apps are acting up. they will just offer to refund your 1 months payment and cancel your service. Netflix out of every company i have talk cares the very least about their customers. i dont know when companys that act this way will ever understand. without customers you dont have a company anymore. im really sick of this.

I have tried to stream videos through the Netflix website for the past two days, but it isn't working. I click on a title to play the selection, I watch the url address change (as if it will load the movie), and then it like stops halfway through and doesn't load the movie. At this halfway point it freezes and overwhelms my ability to operate other open windows. I tried logging off of Netflix and closing all windows to help, but I am still having trouble. Now when I try to access the website to log back in I get the same freezing problem and it locks up (times out) before i can even input my sign on information.

Can't get past the initial "NETFLIX" screen on my Roku 3 for the past several hours and Vudu on my Roku 3 keeps buffering. Amazon Instant Video works fine. Hardwired Roku 3 to router, consistent 15MB/sec D/L and 5MB/sec UL speeds on multiple online speed tests.

It keeps saying it can't play this title right now, on every damn title it is getting annoying second day of this.

Netflix reports Server 1 and 3 not working. I'm in the Orlando area. Can't sign in, can't do anything.

Been having problems connecting all night on my Xbox 360 in Orlando. Trying to watch on my laptop. Netflix does not resolve very quickly and when I login, it times out.

I'm in Melbourne, FL. We're also down... Though I agree with the person that asked why we were all up. Personally, I work nights.

Just tried to get on and thought maybe it was my computer since it's finicky at times but nope... my other devices aren't loading either. How am I supposed to sleep without my show now? :( (Florida)

Netflix servers down in Orlando, FL. Was just working last night but when I turned it on today, the screen was glitching while you swipe from title to title. Now it wont connect all together. @Netflix

I'm going to cancel service! I don't use it enough and it's down way too often!! If everyone cancelled service for just one month, they would be forced to get their act together.

Eureka Netflix is finally working on GoogleTV (btw those forums are useless...) Hope this little bit of info helps with u folks that play netflix thur ur gaming systems. maybe data deletion?

After 4 days with nada on my Netflix (and now I'm tired of watching on my computer) I went thru the process of delete the data and cache from GoogleTV box. I figure no harm here since it aint working. Started netflix again and had to input my email and password again. TaDa... the instant I hit a select it actually played (gasp) and superfast! Now crossing fingers it will stay put
