Can't Access Gixen - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

I log on to the gixen homepage but as soon as I click to enter my username an add company blocks my entry and starts its own process

Maureen Loosemore · 23 June 2016 - 21:14

I don't understand, not only does Gixen seem to be down while this site says not, but this site shows ping results for 18:34 and 20:49 Pacific Time on 23 June 2016 while the time right now is only 17:13 Eastern Time 23 June 2016! Apparently this is not only a web site checker but a time machine as well.

been down most of today.

It's down again... Won't even load in the browser. Grrr... How often does this happen? Paid mirror subscriber.

Jim Burtoft · 25 January 2016 - 22:55
· · Chrome 48.0 on Windows

Site shows down for 1.5 hours as of 5:54pm Eastern, but I just had a snipe go through at 5:40pm eastern, so at least some snipes are still being processed. I do have the "professional" subscription, though.

Dmitry Drubitsky · 10 December 2015 - 12:55

I agree, down way too often lately, and I have a paid account. Will probably start looking for an alternative soon. Any suggestions?

For the people who want to cancel bids and can't log into Gixen, just change your eBay password and the Gixen snipe will fail.

Michael Bush · 10 December 2015 - 10:17

Is there no way to contact the site administrator (that doesn't involve emailing gixen.com)?

Aditya Ikhsan Prasiddha · 10 December 2015 - 09:22

this is crazy. I have an expensive bid that I want to cancel right now!

Hi there...as you made your enquiry 5 hours ago now, I may be too late to help you, but perhaps I can be of assistance to others...?
I made several Gixen snipe bids last night, scheduled to end today/tonight, 2 of which ended about an hour ago, from the same seller...& I can confirm that Gixen IS still making the bids! I wanted to cancel those two but thankfully, I was outbid in both auctions & simply served to assist the seller by increasing the price of both items by a decent amount! Commission please....!!
But my primary concern is the hefty snipe bid that I made for a "brand new with tags" Paul Smith suit that ends in about 4 1/2 hours from now, which I no longer wish to win & thought last night that I would be able to easily change today...whoops! I am absolutely fuming with Gixen about this (despite the plethora of playful exclamation marks that are littered throughout this post!!) & believe that they should be held responsible for my inability to modify my impulsive snipes that I placed last night, confident in the misplaced "knowledge" that I could change my mind at anytime that I chose today.
Surely there should be a 'fail-safe' in place that immediately cancels all pre-placed snipe bids in a situation like this, as I'm sure that most people would prefer to miss out on winning an item (that he/she can still manually bid for & win, assuming that the bid is high enough) than be completely helpless in their inability to edit or cancel their pre-placed snipe bid(s)?
Anyway, my apologies for my verbosity here & I sincerely hope that my feedback will be able to better inform others re: what is happening with their pre-placed snipe bids, if for no other reason than to lessen their shock if they do happen to win something(s) that they have also had a change of heart about & no longer want?!
Cheers & best wishes to all...Matt.

Its likely it won't work unless they have the snipes on a backup server/mirror. Might still go through if you payed for the pro mirror....
