Can't Access Garmin - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

I logged into Garmin Connect to download my cycling and my dashboard appears to have disappeared. I went to the old version and my rides have uploaded. I am unable to add any elements, such as Activities, to my dashboard even after I created a dashboard by clicking on the + in the top right hand corner. My husband has no such issue with his Garmin Connect. He uploaded on another computer. Any ideas as to how I can get Garmin Connect to display properly?

What the hell??? 300 kb/s??? Is this 1994??? Its 9 mgs and going to take 2 hours or more?? What kind of ancient crap is this?? No wonder my BF dumped Garmin after his $400 garmin watch NEVER synced with the websites and satellites reliably. Servers down?? You have 2 of them??

Edit: How can downloading go backward??? I have 9% and now I have 7%??? This POS is going back if this never updates.. I mean 2 hours on HIGH SPEED WIRELESS?? For 9 MG?? That should take like 5 seconds!!!

Been trying to sync my Forerunner 220 for a few days...no luck. Would at least be nice to have some info from Garmin themselves. As others have stated, what's the point in the Express application and the newly designed Garmin Connect site? Surely it would have been a good opportunity to provide some form of communicating platform.

Kirk Jackson · 12 April 2014 - 13:55

"There's a problem with our servers, which means that Express is unavailable right now.." OK guys. If this is the case then the Garmin Express application HOME screen should indicate this. That way I know when it's likely to work, and when it's a waste of time. This is good software design and you're customers would greatly appreciate this improvement.

P.S. It should be possible to view data on my local machine even when there is no connection to Garmin servers. (no internet connection in general)

GARMIN web site is having problems. There is a column of mysterious icons down the middle of the page almost any place you go and it is almost impossible to navigate anywhere you need to go. It is impossible to make out the 800 number. I had to call the direct number. They said, "we are working on it".
