Can't Access Dungeons & Dragons Online - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

yea was a called in skeleton crew on sunday night... i wouldnt dobt if its not up and running until everyone comes in at 7am.. but who knows its turbine :)

Edit: actually now that i recall a loss on sunday one time..the devs work from home they stated so there was no one there to actually get hands on the equipment until morning to finish the fix...but as i said who knows i have heard it all over the course of almost 7 years :P

and to sylvain..the reloading of splash screen is one of many known issues they are "working on". There is a workaround i did find in google but seems like a waste of time and a bit of a pain in the ass since the reload only takes a second or two. i have the same issue but would rather just let it reload myself then go in and change files personally

and jay cook..the last time they used the back up generators was during hurricane sandy..i am pretty sure those mice may have died of starvation since there is a sign on the door to that room that says "do not enter unless...."..poor micers lol

jeffry tuttle...when things like this happen..dont do a repai or reinstall ..some go as far as reformat thier damn drive..99.9 percent of the time its on thier end not yours you just have to wait it out so no need to do all that...but a good idea after every fix or patch or even update..restart your modem to clear its cache of old addies or it will look for dead ends and take longer to load. you will get used to it over time :P

Scott Kolb · 17 November 2013 - 21:21

Well, i'm still stuck at an unreacheable update server...

speaking about that... anyone has any idea as to why its always reinstalling the splash screen, and c++ 2005 sp1 everytime I start the launcher???

Jay Cook · 17 November 2013 - 20:42

It wasn't mother natures fault, it was their backup generators, which they probably haven't bothered testing regularly to ensure they work lol.

Well I just learned that the main DDO servers don't have power right now because of severe weather conditions. They don't have any info for us because they literally don't have power at the moment.

Anthony Edwards · 17 November 2013 - 15:18

We continue to work with our vendors to resolve the current issues. To prevent further frustrations to players who were logging in only to be disconnected, we have disabled the ability to log into the game for the time being. You may also find that attempts to ping or trace route during this time may fail.

Michael Rendon · 2 September 2013 - 09:18

Guess its still down? Was able to get past the "Installing Pre-Reqs" screen but when I try log in with my PW it gives the error "Failed to read authentication response [err: unexpected end of file][line:1][col:1] Is it still down or any ideas anyone?

Shit is still down!
"Ddo.com is UP and reachable. The website is probably down just for you..." Um, I dont care about the site, I was trying to find the status of the game itself... which is still down!

Daren Schmitz · 2 September 2013 - 08:54

Wait til Skyrim online comes out, they might lose a lot of paying customers. They will have their issue to but at least they wont do a hot fix and think the problem is fixed. Yes the servers is down its not your computer.

Stuck at "Installing Pre-Reqs" launcher screen since game crashed over 24 hours ago... being told servers are down/gone and something about Pando media issues also related to this. Pando stopped operating on the 31st of August. Pando is the service that provides the upload and download of the files. Sorry but no official word as to when they will get around to getting a new provider. :)

Aaron Missey · 1 September 2013 - 21:14

Ya.. I've re-installed twice already. Then came across this site afterwards.. think I'll just come here first next time that the typical connection issues arise with DDO. Gary G. is rolling over in his grave once again. Turbine should really hire some people from Blizzard to un*&^% their system.

Server is down yet again just minutes ago, for no reason at all. Launcher is in the red. Glad I didn't spend any money on this ridiculously unstable game, it goes down spontaneously. Even though its BETA this is the worst server based stability I have ever seen in my 26 years of gaming.

From the DDO facebook : We are currently investigating issues with the game launcher and websites. All servers are available, however players who log out are unable to log back in due to the game launcher errors. As these errors prevent us from modifying the launcher news, please continue to monitor our Facebook page for updates. We apologize for the inconvenience and will bring more information as soon as it is available.
