We have tried pinging Centrelink website using our server and the website returned the above results. If centrelink.gov.au is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access Centrelink - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

If the people in parliament had to navigate and wait for this dinosaur era website, it would be changed to something far simpler overnight. If online is so open to fraud, why keep it? Go back to manually showing up at an office in person, with racks of cards for employment and jobs. Then the ones who show up get the jobs, not the mates of a mate, or those with shiny impressive resumes or interview smarm. I feel so sorry for the older people trying to use this. It's hard enough for internet savvy people. Try IMPOSSIBLE. I suppose you think it's just whingers who comment? And no hopers on Centrelink in the first place. Well, not by choice, that's for sure.

First tried to access Centrelink in October over a minor matter and had constant problems. It took them weeks to respond to my email complaint. Ongoing problems today over a very simple issue, online services are pathetic. I feel sorry for people with a major issue that they have to have resolved.

Frits Van Scheepen · 31 December 2015 - 23:16

This is the longest I have known Centrelink Online Services having problems. For days now, I find that I cannot access any function once I reach the Centrelink Online Services via the MyGov Portal. All what happens is that I get logged off. It may have something to do with their recent upgrade to the best of my understanding. Whatever the reason, this continuing saga is causing a lot of frustration for me and, by the looks of it, lots of other Centrelink clients. I am reporting this also to share with others that you are indeed not alone. You just have to leave it in the hands of the programmers. No amount of complaining will help here. I am sure that relevant staff are doing everything they can to get the online services to work properly again.

AFter 3 days I gave up trying and went to Centrelink office where they told me a system upgrade was started last Friday, was supposed to be done by Monday. Major issues all Monday and Tuesday but accessible Wednesday with significant functions not not available. Seems to be just the same today. Zero communication to people trying to use the site - even when I got through after handing on the phobe for 30 minutes - they just did no know what was going on. I'll tolerate even major outage if there is adequate communication

Good morning Hank,

Once again i cannot log onto your billion dollar computer systems.

No, its not just me, its EVERYONE in Australia. So how do i report income today so i will get my payment tomorrow?? I live in a mountainous area and the nearest Centrelink Offfice is a 80km round trip.

So i have two questions

1) Will Centrelink reimburse my travel expenses to travel to your offices?

2) Please define Intermittent. I doubt it means down all the time.

I would have given 0 Stars but 1 out of 5 is the least that can be selected. Don't be too complacent Centrelink/My.Gov, this should not be interptetted as a 20℅ score.

This government provided system is absolutely disgusting!! There is ABSOLUTELY no point in demanding that information for applications needs to be submitted by a certain deadline date, because you either can't get on the site or stay on the site to complete the forms!!! Crashing all the time, and then having to wait, and then if you wait too long before checking again it signs you out. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED, BUT I WON'T HOLD MY BREATH.....THIS IS THE PUBLIC SERVICE AFTER ALL..... Get your S..T together..... DISGRACEFUL.. and I don't even use it, I'm trying to help my daughter submit something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been trying to have another go at starting an application on the Centrelink site via MyGov but it was unavailable this morning and is still unavailable. Ironic considering the relevant minister told the Senate yesterday that there are virtually no problems with site availability.

At last I managed to get 3 statments downloaded then it spat the dummy again when I selected the goback button to go and select another document.

One of my statments even has an error of PLUS $100,000 now I spoke to them via phone yesterday and they told my my Real estate amount correct and I agreed what they told me is correct but when I download One of my 2 income statements is out by PLUS $100,000 approx. But the girl at Centerlink on the phone could not see this amount showing and could not look at what I was seeing as the system locks her out whilst the details you have given her to update are in process of being validated by another check operator. Anyway the same error is showing today.

Outcome I don't trust the system figures and will have to pay a visit to an office.

Here is my latest error ...........

Error: Application error occurred during the request processing.

CenterLink Human Services website a mess of errors.
SAP errors the logging system is not working.
Timeouts, Blank pages, Sending a document logged me off. The list goes on an on. If I go via My.Gov.au then I can login ok but when I choose Centerlink I get a blank page. last night loop error shown by Chrome browser.
2 weeks ago I filled in my income stream form hit submit and system spit the dummy with an error. So yesterday I phoned and they said they had received it but an exception had been flagged.

Seems like the whole system is a mess and we are being forced to use it. Even when you go to a Centrelink office the system crashes. I just tried to get a statment got to the request page selected one from drop down list but the NEXT or right hand request button was greyed out.

So no idea if my form/letter (PDF) has got to them although the upload page did report it had got there. It would be nice if they sent a email back to say "we have received you information document and will respond in due course"
