We have tried pinging Bluehost website using our server and the website returned the above results. If bluehost.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access Bluehost - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

This is INSANE. My site has been down since Friday! I can't believe that a tech company can't solve something within 24 hours in this day and age. Pathetic. Losing money!

Has there been a statement from Bluehost? I have been unable to access my website and the bluehost site all day from my Mac computer and apple devices. Error states "Safari can not open the page as it can not connect to the server." We have only just received internet connection after it's been out by Telstra network issues for a week so have been running diagnostics all afternoon, thinking it was a connected issue but it appears not to be on our side.

Bluehost will witness a decline in customers in 2016 as they see more customers shifting away due to poor service. We are one long-time customer that will move away. Their cut-price deals to win new customers will drive their profits down even further. The writing is on the wall for BlueHost.

I can understand systems needing maintenance, unexpected outages, so on, and so on, but what I refuse to let go is a company the size of Bluehost refusing to make an effort to acknowledge this to their customers. I have signed up for outage reports and all that and I never hear a word. NOTHING! All I see is a company that is unpredictable, unreliable, and doesn't give a #$%^ about it's customers. One more thing - apparently once the DNS propagation is complete, queued up emails will be delivered.

Bluehost · 25 November 2015 - 22:13
· · Chrome 46.0 on Mac

For all customers affected we have an UPDATE:

Some customers are still experiencing issues accessing their websites. If you are one of those affected, try to pull up your site with a different connection, for example your mobile phone's network instead of wifi. Also try to connect through http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ If it loads with an alternate connection or the provided link, then your DNS is currently cached with your ISP which is causing the disruption. But your site is still accessible to the rest of the world and the issues will clear up throughout the day. Thank you for your patience!

Also, for email issues the email will eventually show up, there is a large backup of emails due to the DNS issue.

Please see our Twitter/Facebook for the latest updates.

· · Firefox 42.0 on Mac

Just received a live chat response from Bluehost:
We had a serious server down time today which just got resolved now ( a few minutes back).
However, the DNS propagation initiated after the fix is still pending and that should complete within the next 4~8 hours.
The incomplete DNS propagation is the reason why your emails are down.

My sites are up - shared hosting and email is working, but it is SLOW. I am reluctant to update my websites with all of this going on. Bluehost used to be so reliable, when they were bought out about 3 years ago, service went downhill and they are so into marketing all of the extra services. This should NOT be happening so close to Black Friday......

All my sites hosted with Bluehost are down with the message 'Server not found' I waited half an hour on hold and when someone finally answered he said he couldn't hear me and without even waiting to repeat, he hung up on me. I tried the live chat and since it said my wait time was 30 minutes I stepped away from my computer, and when I came back less than 15 minutes later the chat had closed and I was left with a 'Thank you for chatting' message. When I checked the transcript, their was no response to my initial question :'( I'e now been on hold on the phone for 35 more minutes. bluehostforum.com also has a 'Server not found' message when I try to access it so I'm guessing their having generalized problems...it would just be nice if they let me know for sure what's going on.

I'm leaving Bluehost anyway. I use reseller hosting for a small number of clients, but they discontinued it. I still have 8 months left that I paid for, but they no longer offer support, took away a bunch of features, etc. Umm, why not provide the service we paid for until the end of our term? Bluehost went downhill.

Down Still. Black Freakin Wednesday! Just don't get why a company can not have a backup rollover solution in place after a certain periord of time. So much for leaving early today.

I have shared hosting on bluehost. Last email received on 11/25 was 4 hours ago (11:59am(ET). I host a few websites; they are all down.

I live in Los Angeles and Bluehost is down for me on 11/25/15 @ 1:32PM - and has been for last couple hours. I waited on hold for 30+ minutes for customer "service", but finally gave up.

All Bluehost hosting accounts are down. Their own page is up now. I wonder where they get their hosting?

Bluehost server firewall security are weak they being pentrated by hackers and its been increasing in the past 18-24months. They've been pacthing the holes ups but there's so much patching you can do until the hardware degrades resulting in data loss on specific servers can be very bad for some. Move your website to smaller less popular hosting providers (keep in mind the following companies are part of the bluehost group: HostMonster, FastDomain and iPage- keep away people) also choose smaller hosting providers located in your own country. The bigger the company the more likely chances are that they are a magnet for hackers to try hacking them. 99.99% uptime is missleading people and false advertising Bluehost should be sued aswell as other who mention that because nobody can guarantee that regardless of the set-up they have.
