Can't Access Auto Trader - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

· · Firefox 47.0 on Windows is quickly becoming an absolutely worthless website. Their site is down more than it's up.

Have been using auto trader mobile for couple of years and it always worked fine. Last month or so - can't access it no-way, no-how. Admittedly, my blackberry "smart phone" can be as dumb as a hockey puck sometimes, but it always worked before. Something has changed. Oh well - I guess it's back to kijiji.

Frankly not good people at all. The trade web site has been down now for nearly a week and throughout this period it has been impossible to get through on the tel on any extension commonly available, I assume they have abandoned the tel lines until they get the server fixed which is obviously taking some time. Time is what Autotrader charge us for and time is what we aren't currently getting, hence them keeping their heads down. The servers are generally overloaded with all the secondary corporate advertising shit that we don't want to see which is part of the company ethos of screwing customers. last year it cost £42 for 3 weeks on the net and 3 weeks in the magazine, when they stopped printing the magazine thus halving the previous service the reduction in charges was ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO just more money in their pockets. These lads have pretty much had their own way for a long time now and as soon as anyone gives them a run for their money they will go down so fast because all the people they have been screwing will dump them like a shuttle re-entry and watch them burn. I spend thousands with autotrader but only because I have to, not because they give good service or value, simply because they have a captive market and I like many others have no choice. 5 days of emails and countless tel calls and not a squeak out of them and when its up and running again they will say "what problem"??? what compensation??? NOT NICE PEOPLE
