Can't Access AniLinkz - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

So I see some complaining about the mods, but I just want to watch some anime. Does this site actually have malware or not? The various "is it safe" websites I check tell me anilinkz is fine, but firefox tells me differently when I try to go there.

People are spot on about the admins/mods and specifically CM, the owne, on this website. His posts to anyone who angers him contains such nerd rage and variety of expletives it's hard to comprehend where all of his clearly misplaced anger is coming from but one thing is very clear; his ranting shows an unstable and sad mind. Frequently my comments are deleted for no reason whatsoever as I'm just commenting on the specific episode and nothing else. It's almost as if he tries to bait people into lashing out at him so he can have a definitive reason to ban you and feel superior to you even though you're just a random stranger online...very odd and confused individual indeed...

Brandon Heat · 17 October 2015 - 03:34

Personally I think he deserved it, he being a dick is long known by every veteran there, you can't even contradict him at all, disagree with him = ban. He's also a vindictive little shit, once I disagree with him and he delete all my comments for the previous 4 months.

Charles Mackleroy (CM) is indeed an intolerant person. I believe that he has a sort of personality disorder - precisely superiority complex. I do not understand why people would admire him for it. Sure he bans trolls, assholes, or whatever you call them. However, he also unfairly bans people who challenges him. It is basically a one-party dictatorship just because he owns the site.

CM and another commenter were arguing about their own speculation. Yet the moment "speculation" came up, CM was infuriated to the point of downright belittling the commenter and banning him/her. He outright stated that he is in the right (CM) and that his "speculation" isn't mere speculation (when actually is if you use logic). Then he used his usual "I have watched over blah blah amount of anime, who the hell you think you are you f#!king weeaboo (ironic he said this) twit?" to insult him before banning him.

This person is awesome? Don't confuse maintaining order with caring for the site and community. A person who cares about the community would not insult others and public display it as a warning to others - if you know psychology this is what oppressors do only.

You who enjoy the privilege CM gives you refuse to accept the idea that CM is wrong. In History we have a word for that: bureaucrats.

In order to give you a brief idea of what I'm conveying, why don't we turn the situation around? Let's say that CM suddenly strip the privilege you have from you despite you doing nothing wrong? Such as speculating about future event in an anime, but having CM mistaking it as a spoiler. Would you rather CM:

1) Answer you politely on what he thinks you did wrong and ask you to amend your ways: - e.g. "Hey XX, you have been posting spoilers unintentionally lately. Perhaps it is just mere speculation and that I confuse your comment with a spoiler. I would like to clarify on that matter, and I'm sorry to remove your comment for now."

2) Answer you in a rude manner with zero tolerance: - e.g. "Hey FUCKTARD, I have been watching Anime since the 85 and you PIECE OF SHIT think you can get away with these kinds of behavior? Who the FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? Hey pipsqueak, you must be an uneducated dumbf#!k who does not understand what are rules do you? Enjoy your f#!king BAN, asshole."

I once asked him to stop his rude manner of publicly berating others and I got banned for it. Sure he is the rightful owner and would feel compelled to remove anyone against him. However, do I fit in you people's description of an asshole, troll or spoilerf#!k? I would never spoil an Anime just to mess with people, nor troll others for no reason, nor suddenly insult a person because his bad grammar or ignorance on a particular subject. What I merely did was asking CM to adjust his attitude and make it more acceptable.

Let me ask you: Do you really think he is completely right in his way? Is there no other ways to treat rule-breakers other than verbally abusing them? Is that all there is to YOUR HUMANITY?

I am disappointed in that humans have forsaken what was once most important to them. I am not God, nor am I arrogant enough to pretend to be. Hubris will be the downfall of any person and even God himself. I am just a simple human who wants to show his distaste to this society full of contempt. I hope you who have read this actually realize what you are supporting. Please, reconsider it once again.

Katie Himmel · 8 April 2014 - 17:37
United States · Comcast Cable

Although it is down at the moment I see you guys were talking about your comments being deleted. It is very reasonable though. If you've read the policies for it, it said NO SPOILERS. CM allows any type of comments, but he hates spoilers. If you guys can't have a normal conversation without having to spoil something for the readers then go ahead and use other sites.

Animeget has all new eps they seem to be doing better than anilinkz right now since they have Blood Lad and Watamote and others that anilinkz does not just switch over. I think I'll permanently make the switch. Sure it's nice to chat in comments but i could just subscribe to an anime forum if i really wanted to talk about certain anime xD

Plus the mod on anilinkz is very rude, and has called me several derogatory things in the past, unfairly banned me for speaking up about it then tried to hurry up and unban me when i messaged the main anilinkz page on facebook so yeah wayy too much drama for a site that just should be for watching anime. I hope it gets shut down, or someone comes out with a new fresher site that doesn't have a butt load of problems.

@ brandon, yea the comment i made was when the video had been up on other sights for about 3 hours, but i just made the comment that they were late, and bam i have been banned from chatting for 2 weeks so far. thats not a good reason to ban someone.

Kory Shawn Madigan · 8 July 2013 - 19:00

Wow what a war. Its just an anime 'linking' website. Its simply the 'easy door' to the videos that other websites host. Also, why cant the last 10% of people see that CM is a cyberdouche? Everyone else agrees, so I think it means something. (note that 10% is an exaggeration and is not factual, but there to provide an example)

Also, I havent pinned blame on CM lol I simply stated my disdain of CM. Right now this comment board is the most colorful in regards of CM's status as a respectable person and I enjoy reading it (: Honestly there is no need to boast about how big you are IRL because its irrelevant in comment boards. It wont matter if you're a manager at McDonalds, an insurance mascot, a pro welder, or working for NASA, to the guy you tell it to, it is just another way to comment how shitty your life is or how made up it must be.

Adrian Ricoz Chew · 8 July 2013 - 18:52
Singapore · SingNet Pte

Well i understand that everyone is frustrated that anilinkz is down and wants to pin the blame on someone. Everyone is also entitled to their own opinions. But i think everyone can agree currently anilinkz is one of the better anime streaming site.

Lets put the hate and drama aside. No point antagonizing CM and his team of admin to the point till they give up on anilinkz right? Even if new admins took over they might not necessary be better or do a better job. Just give them some time to sort this out.

I think its a good time to check out some other sites to see what other sites offer. Any recommendations? :D

Well, I went to chatango and asked CM why web is down. He told me that they switching Apache to Ngnix. About Port Scans – lots of websites have anti-DDoS code, just as precaution. In addition, do uses CloudFlare.

And unbanning somebody won’t help. In addition I’m against unbanning that asshole. Let him be banned for eternity.

In addition by scanning ports you can’t tell for 100% if website contains anti-DDoS code or not, you need to do Code Review for this. If you decided that just by looking at certain responsive pattern in Nmap, you might be wrong.

@Jake Beacom

Well, this is all what can you say, due being so much fail at everything.

Lol, first you post to take a look at your website because it is epic, and then you’re telling me that this website is shit… You know, you should decide only on something one.

And for the list of companies you wrote. Please provide a proof, that you made websites to them. Otherwise it was only in your delusions, in you Big Dreamland Company and your words not worth a shit. Deal with it, life is unfair.

And it seems, you’re out of comments, now please follow these instructions:

Chris Andrew · 8 July 2013 - 16:05
United States · Verizon Internet Services

aight, to the asskissers, cm is a douche. he insta bans spoilers though so i rate him as a 2.5/5 mod. but he is a douche. you wont believe how many times i wanted to call him out for being a Snob McAssface but didnt cause i dont like being banned for 3 weeks. then i get banned anyway for commenting that anilinkz was late linking an episode. But here is a fact Anilinkz needs to have a Comment Rule section so people know what kinds of things can get them banned. things like having an opinion, and being an individual that comments on anilinkz.

L2Ruthless · 8 July 2013 - 15:56
United States ·

Sure doesn't seem like a script kiddie, if you know anything about scanning ports, and how to detect attacks.

Ben Pometta · 8 July 2013 - 15:40

So from what I've gathered, it seems like some butthurt skriptkiddie got banned and is now DDOSing anilinkz? lololol

Brandon Chronic · 8 July 2013 - 15:17
United States · Fuse Internet Access

Don't have much of an idea about what's going on so I'll just add a little something, people lie its a fact of life even if it isn't a good one, you can post whatever you want and read whatever people post but unless your a mind reader you never know what are truths and what are lies. People are free to express their opinions but it doesn't change what is the truth, even if it changes what people believes is the truth.

The important thing is Anilinkz has been a good site so we should just wait to see if/when it comes back up.

L2Ruthless · 8 July 2013 - 14:29
United States ·

I could care less anymore, i want the site up. Can CM13 seriously just unban the guy, does he really have THAT big of an ego?

Hypothetically if hes lying and hes not attacking the server he could just re-ban him no?

L2Ruthless · 8 July 2013 - 12:58
United States ·

@Stallker Von Neuman This isn't meant to be insulting, but if you have that type of technical knowledge you should know by now CM13 is lying about not getting DDoSed. Port Scans show their code is anti-DDoS code. So you're either lying for CM13's sake or lying about your credentials. I believe it's the first case, lying for CM13's sake.

Stallker Von Neuman · 8 July 2013 - 10:39
Israel · Bezeq International

And website is back. I've asked CM what was the problem, well they were switching from Apache to Ngnix. So it was more then enough of a reason for website to be down.

Kory Shawn Madigan · 8 July 2013 - 06:58
United States · Charter Communications

Haha hey, if he's working on more than a 2nd wife, then he's doing something wrong somewhere.. Its just a guess.. I think the dude's an asshole. Life is unfair sure, but why add to it? CM is simply being rewarded with all these comments, from fans of anime and enemies of oppression.

Having a website with millions of hits a day dont make you a God. It may make you successful, or even popular, but famous and infamous are 2 different kinds of popular.

L2Ruthless · 8 July 2013 - 06:27
United States ·

Pretty much, from what I saw screenshots of all he has to do is unban the guy to stop all of this or buy protection out of his selfish pocket. But it seems like they aren't doing anything at all. If you think they're re-coded the site, last time I checked that's not going to work at all against a DDOS that can beat up anilinkz this badly... Not only that but the mods (kev, absitik, cm13) all saw the screenshots too and admitted to it being a ddos. CM13's response was "Lol so what you proved u can take down local internets but we have more bandwidth than a .gov site" and know the truth yet they're telling everyone it's because of code and that the guy is a fake in public chat? lol

Adrian Ricoz Chew · 8 July 2013 - 06:16

Good afternoon CM Charles Mackleroy,
I am one of your website fan since the first time that I get to watch anime. I think your website was amazing especially when I report an un-working link, you guy fix it almost immediately unlike some of the other website. I have never been to chat tango before so and I don't really use it so I don't know whether what I read there (because of some problem with another user that your website temporarily get shut down) was right or not. Since unlike most of "otaku" who have respect for the anime staff and admin member on those website that upload it, some are pretty disrespectful and probably, the problem was instigate from them... But don't you think as long as the problem remain like this, both you and them will not gain anything from it right? Since I'm just someone whom enjoy anime and respect the one who make translate and upload it (I even aspire to become one of you but since I'm currently in college so I can't do those things anymore :(( ) so I don't have any right to interfere with what ever is happening but I just want to request you one thing, please do something about it quick please since it was Saturday and Sunday (like Shingeki no Kyoujin, Hunter x Hunter, or the new series like monogatari, kingdom, blood lad, etc.) in which most of awesome anime was out that your website got shut down!

Anilinkz is an anime website anyway, I don't see why you are acting like it isn't and so caught up just because one or more people get banned, this does not necessarily mean you can not watch anime on the website just try another site if you really feel that uncomfortable with Anilinkz, is it really that hard for any of you?

Honestly you are all acting like a bunch of children over nothing and yes I have read what the comments in which he posted but like I said Anilinkz is and always will be an anime site, get over yourselves and goodbye.

I found the source of most of the links in Anilinkz... Clean, simple easy to follow:! Damn those straight source vids are pretty HQ Id say. And who ever defends CM really hasnt read his comments. He loves to over react and blow it out of proportion.

Agreed. There are so many more anime websites where the admins care about their site and people. is definitely one of them and it shows by how fast they get things done and they have way more experience.

Guys just go to instead. Everything works perfectly fine over there and they upload faster than anilinkz sometimes anyway.

The ONLY people I've seen on chatango who supports him are people trying to become mods or mods that are corrupt

"cares about the site and community..."
Sorry, but the only thing he cares for is to keep his own face.
IF he'd truly care for the site, he'd just apologize and stop behaving like a dick so he just gets the site up again, but no - that would imply that he'd be inferior to someone else - and that's something he obviously cannot cope with.
And know tons of admins @ my university who act more friendly and professionally with people who're looking for an argument, so - shouldn't be to difficult to behave a little, right?

More Power to Anilinkz despite some claiming blah blah blah 'bout CM... Like what Dimitur said below...guy only cares about the site and the community. That's what matters most. A**h*les, trolls, and the plain stupid ethics breakers just need to GTFO and find other sites to watch FREE anime.

I find that extremely hard to believe when the guy banned me immediately just for asking a simple question without any warning and how he lies about everything.

L2Ruthless, i really doubt that cm banned someone unfairly. and i actually respect him for standing his ground. he`s one of the best admins out there, a guy who A) knows what he`s doing, B) cares about his site and users.

Yep, I made a comment which was unfairly removed, and I noticed it, made an unprovokative comment about me noticing it was removed, then CM replied cussing me out and threatning to ban me. Dude's got issues, and a 'Big Man' complex. I Read alot of his 'replies' to users comments. lol Like I said, dude's not a nice guy. I love Anilinkz, but I hate the admin abuse and oppression.

Steve Sa · 7 July 2013 - 03:53

Well, always happens if you give some authority to people who just can't handle it. In this case CM just got arrogant as fuck and thought he could just do everything he wanted, I already had some arguments with him in the past, always got banned, comments he couldn't find a response to were deleted and so on... I really like anilinkz, but I think it deserves a better admin than this immature asshole.

L2Ruthless · 7 July 2013 - 03:29

Update, CM13 unfairly banned some guy, and he retaliated, and now he's covering it up by saying they're "updating" the site. When I asked about it he banned and ignored me immediately, ask him about it if you see him on chatango!

L2Ruthless · 7 July 2013 - 02:20

Definitely never heard of any "maintenance" that lags like that or gives forbidden access errors on the entire site. You don't need to take down the site at all for "maintenance". Unless they're changing hosts which means that it's even shadier... And yeah I heard the same thing about CM, I heard all he has to do is unban the guy to get the site back on but he's way too stuck up. Maybe the site deserves to be down or admin changed :/

to those who might be concerned. this site might happen to be targeted as well since Animecrazydotnet shut down a couple hours ago due to infringements for the copy rights that thing everyone's been seeing on the net. Quoted " In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at" who knows but I suggest shutting this Facebook page down to avoid being a major target. Don't get me wrong I love this site for years now and no other site provides almost every anime imaginable to watch. but I used to be a moderator to a site back in 07 before the site I've been on got caught for the same problem any anime sites has faced. (Forgive my literature to respond to this whole currently down thing)

Above is quoted from a Facebook post on the websites FB page.

"oops! google chrome could'nt find" and just beneath the line " is up and reachable for everyone" on this site it also says " The website is down or blocked just for you..." what the hell is that all about?

I really like this website. First, I tried to get on and I can't get on it. I go insane. Then I found this website and I love it. Now I can't go on it. Yesterday, I could for just like 1 hr. Can you make it back?? PlEASE
