We have tried pinging ADVFN website using our server and the website returned the above results. If advfn.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Fix DNS Problems
A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

- If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

This website is always having problems, especially where Java is concerned. They are quick to blame the user or browser, and not so quick to own up themselves. Considering that this is a financial website, it is unreliable to the extent of not being usable for anything other than inconsequential purposes. In the past they have removed all history of securities because they changed stock exchange, so destroying user data, and they argued it wasn't their fault or responsibility. I am looking for a reliable alternative and shall change as soon as I've found one, though that will involve me in a copious amount of work, which should be unnecessary. And I'm a paying subscriber too!! |
