Can't Access Webs - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Try alternative urls such as freewebs.com

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

My site constantly refuses to load. Get messages like, "Can't find page and "cannot find server." Clicky's won't work except after repeated tries. Webs support offers the same solutions over and over (which I have already tried before contacting them) -- like, clear browser, remove firewalls, clear history, cookies, cache -- and it still doesn't work. Why does Webs spend so much time creating new themes (that are not all that creative or innovative) and making changes -- instead of just making sure they have a secure basic website that works all the time for everyone? I never have these same problems with any other blog or website or service that I use. Only Webs continues to be slow and not work. Even trying to pay for your website is difficult. Who runs this thing anyway? Who would make it difficult to pay?

Finally worked out what the issues are. Iinet Australia users. I have spoken to support on their end after realising that webs actually works on Telstra 3G network. When I asked iinet, residential accounts have a block on webs due to a number of fraudulent issues coming as a result of site related hackers or other issues which iinet has deemed to be unsafe. As a result of us not being to get online this morning, I have been so behind in my work. We support 8 sites using webs.com Despite the issue looking like it is an ISP issue, I still feel strongly about not being addressed by webs support here on FB particulary when we are not able to log onto the websites ourselves and find out what the problems are. In short this issue has been escalated to Iinet engineering on a personal level. I have however advised them that they would need to look at this as it is not only affecting me but a number of business in Australia.

That is all I have for now I am afraid. If I know more, I'll add.

Don't change your DNS Settings as Webs Suggests, this will not alter anything, if you use public DNS that will probably eneble you to view it from The USA or France, this doesn't mean anyone else in Australia will be able too see it or the Asia Pacific for that matter, Webs.com had the same issue in Feb, and 3 times last year, now their excuse is we need to contact bigpond and optusnet and our ISP service to let us see it?...WHAT UTTER ABSOLUTE RUBBISH !! other sites work fine, and changing your DNS as Webs suggests is ridiculous, thats like saying to all your users who may want to look up your website to change their DNS settings too, utter crap !! its been down for near 14 days now, and this ISP block is absolute bullshit of an excuse..as soon as webs eventually come up again im dumping a complete backup of my websites pages and moving to a real hosting service... webs are f#!ked.. run by f#!ktards !!!

So uh... what the hell is taking Webs so long to fix whatever is wrong with their crap? I noticed both of my sites were not working last night. I have friends who use webs for their sites too, and there's aren't working either. No way to call the company, but I emailed them. No word back still. Nothing is working. Why does it take this long to fix an issue?
