Can't Access Tv Guide - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

The least favorite thing I have to do is check the week's listings on It takes forever. It's loading, not responding, loading a long running script, or it has forgotten my favorite channels. The ads always load okay though.

On the TV Guide Website for What’s On TV Listings ( I’ve entered my zip code (i.e.: 30332) and selected my Cable provider [i.e.: Atlanta – Georgia Tech (Atlanta) (Digital (non-rebuild))]. The only channels displayed are ABC, NBCSN, ESPN2-HD, MTVMUHD, CNNHD, msnbcH, TLC, A&E, BRAVO, LINK, WILLOW and UNI. Even if I select Atlanta – Georgia Tech (Atlanta) (Standard Cable) I only see those stations. But we have CBS, NBC, USA, TNT, various HBO, many sports channels, CMT and so many more. All of these channels had been displaying on the TV Guide web page until recently. Where did they go?

On the listings pager, the otherwise blank screeen says, TV LISTINGS Loading. Please wait... I've been waiting for an hour on two of our computers. I sure hope you haven't enhanced so that it won't work on our computers any more. All other websites are working fine. I don't know how tvguide will get back to me on this. Oh well.

TV Guide for iPhone has not worked for over a week. When you scroll to see a later hour it overlays what is on the screen and becomes unreadable! Overall the current release of TV Guide really sucks compared to prior releases. I wish there was a good alternative! It is slow, cumbersome and generally not user friendly.

Sunday still scrolling overlay info on shows. Obviously I am not the only one with this problem. Dear TV Guide ..... please fix this since it's been 48 hours now and you don't respond.

This morning the TV Guide Mobile App seems to be up and working properly on my iPhone and iPad. Hope it stays that way! Still have not had a response to the quesry I sent in. I realize they must be swamed, but even an automatic reply would be better than nothing!

Aida Jeanan Risk · 27 March 2016 - 04:10

I am in North Carolina. I cannot scroll accross the listings on the TV guide Mobile App on my iPhone or my iPad. When I try to scroll accross to see what is on a particular channel at a later time the listings get all jumbled up so I can't read them at all. I can only scroll up or down. I have tried all the rebooting, removing and recalling, but nothing works. I contacted TV Guide but have not heard back so far. I feel a little better reading all the comments here realizing that am not the only one with this problem. Hope it is fixed soon. I also hope to get a response to the query I sent in. To be left in the dark like this is just no on!

Gervaise Davis · 27 March 2016 - 01:35
· · Chrome 49.0 on Windows

I live in Monterey CA, use Comcast, and for the last day and half I am having the same problem the others have had. The damn listings page is essentially unreadable because when you try to move to the next or previous hour the box retains the old entry so the box has two items in it making it impossible to read.
Thinking it was a bad download, I deleted the TV app from my iPhone and reinstalled it -- same problem again.
Why does it take TV Guide tech support two days to see and fix an obvious programming error.

I can view listings up to Saturday for the TV Guide online but when I choose Sunday (or any day after Sunday) I get THERE ARE NO AIRINGS FOR YOUR CHANNEL LISTINGS. It is the same channel listings as Saturday so why not?

And if I just start with Saturday and then advance the time every 3 hours I can keep viewing listings well into the week. But advancing time every 3 hours to get to the next day's prime time is a slow way to get there.

Please find out why choosing the date and the time for any date after Saturday will not show the listings.

I also get "undefined"! HOWEVER, I've found that if I STOP the page from downloading completely by clicking on the red "X" (or esc key), I can stop it from going to "undefined". You may have to try it a time or two, but by stopping the download at just the right time, you can see the page. BUT be aware that clicking on a program (to expand them) it "may" cause the page to go to "undefined" Sometimes does, sometimes doesn't.

The format changed last Thursday and it's really a mess. It's hard to believe they launched it in this condition. The default is all channels, not favorites. Can't see favorites unless you scroll down, how far depends on what you select in Grid Preferences, How many channels should the listings grid be contained to? The time grid only appears at the top, no longer an option to change it. When format changed, it lost my favorite channels list; re-creating it was tedious with the new format's selection screen.
