Can't Access TalkTalk - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

wtf is wrong, getting really fed up with paying for a service thatt appears not to work. Think we can get out of any contract by saying we are paying for something that is not of merchantable quality. I have a name in a CEO office that I am going to contact who, surprisingly for TT was very helpful when we wanted to leave TT mobile so will try her and come back to let you all know her name and address so you can all bombard her with your complaints. TT have got to address their customer complaints and listen to them

Re: TALKTALK. The phone & Broadband are OK - it's just the email server. Since their "upgrade" it has been abysmal. True they don't deny it when you ring - but how to know immediately where the problem lies is quite another thing. It gets you going loopy! They should publish what is happening instead of hiding. That alone is deception.
Since their hacking last year they wrote to say that none of my important details were compromised, but I have continued to get literally stacks (2 doz or more) Phishing phone calls from India judging by the accent. They want to "help" me get rid of the nasty viruses that are attacking me via my Router and purport to be TT engineers.
The word is that they want to hack my PC and steal my sensitive data like banking details. So be warned if you get one of these calls, ring off. Give them nothing. They already have to my knowledge, my name, address, phone no. and TT account no. How did they get it? Hacked TT server. What else do they have? With this email fiasco I cannot see TT surviving. They have a tie in with AOL don't they? Surely this will rebound on to them as well. It ought to.
Guess what? Even as I write this another call from TT engineers in India trying it on once again. Spooky isn't it. We shouldn't have to weather this.

Do all of yourselves a favour and dump talk talk, they are the biggest pile of crap bar none. If they do not provide what they are contracted to then they are in breach of that contract and can'not charge you a penny for leaving. I have no access to talk talk emails yet again,,, I am tied by contract to them until August 2016. I have and am keeping to the terms of my contract by paying my account bill via direct debit every month. However, talktalk has / is continually breaking our contract since I repeatedly do not have the product and service I pay for. Many, many other customers seem to be in the same situation so, surely we should be able to leave talktalk without any financial charges to us !! What do you think??

Feb 1 2016 - Once again no connection to their email. They say they're 'changing' the log-in - they've been telling us that for a year now; surely it doesn't take that long to change over?

I am sick to death now with talktalk. I have had no phone line, incoming or no outgoing calls since we started the contract 14 months ago. We have phoned Customer Services to tell themour situation from the start. They have dine nothing about at all but they take payment every month. I am tied into an 18 month contract but i think they are in breach of there contract. Thats why we got phoneline, talktalk youview box and the internet. But even though they have not done nothing regarding my phoneline, now we have no internet. Yet again phoned them telling them that we cannot get internet well wifi or with ethernet they still have not sorted it. I've tried to do it myself but to know success. I have never and should not be treated like this and have to still pay for services i've never had. Can anyone help me with why the broadband isn't working and what number do i ring for technical help i desperate now. I am defo not cut off. I gonna cancel this and go with another provider

TT internet access is rubbish, intermittent, inconsistent and they NEVER acknowledge this. Never their fault - always we who have to grub about checking master sockets this and filter that etc.
It's HIGH TIME we had some fibre broadband or at very least a better quality of service.

Another thing - when setting up your iPhone, how come every other ISP and their dog has a named presence on there.. but you try and find TT - nowhere to be seen. You have to set up a proxy server via b*** Gmail to be able to send emails from the phone! How poor is that? They glibly increase monthly fees and give some lame excuse as to why they've 'had to increase charges' but the service doesn't get ANY better. How can we as users make a difference? it's all very well saying leave them but the hassle of changing all your e-life isn't easy (printed matter and all your hundreds of contacts etc.) so they continue to give bad service and there's little we can do, as far as I can see... Any options anyone?

Had a nice man from 'TalkTalk' ring me this morning. Apparently my router is corrupted, I was entitled to £200 compensation and a new router which would be fitted by an engineer tomorrow morning. Afetr downloading 2 pieces of software "Opera" and "Teamviewer" I refused to go to my Bank account so that the compensation could be transferred directly across. He then put me on to his Lady Supervisor who tried to convince me. It all sounded like a call centre ( shouting, laughing, foreign accents etc) but eventually I hung up.
Computer didn't work properly/atall afterwards.but eventually I managed to get it back to a previous existance. Earlier this afternoon surprise, surprise, he rang back to talk about the router. I had rang TalkTalk by then and they said it was a scam. I told him this, but he denied it was. I then said I had contacted my credit card company and Bank and had also spoken to the Police ...he hung up. When they first ring the number is unavailable but if you hang up they will ring you from 0018593419. BE WARNED.

When I rang TalkTalk, I said my connection was dropping out. They ran some tests and surprise surprise the external wiring is working properly and the 'fault' is with my internal wiring. I've heard that one before but from BT.

Rated Talk Talk with one star as no lower option. Decided to quit for new provider and lost service altogether two days earlier than expected. Have requested final bill by post and they are charging for the priveledge saying I should access it in my account on line. Catch is they won't let you into your account unless accessed via Talk Talk broadband ?!?
