Can't Access Steam Store - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

I've tried everything to get it working, and no browser can get there. It's the only site not working for me. All my other sites I go to work just fine. Anyone that cant log in steam and play games, you can, just not the ones that plays online. Any single player you can . Just unplug your internet, log steam, it will then detect you don't have an internet connection and ask you if you want to log offline, do that, then you can see all your library and launch any game. But store, comminuty etc wont work. You can now replug your internet cable and log back in to teampseak or surf web etc, and play any single player game on steam. Just not online like i said.

OK... For those of you who seem to think this page is incorrect, if SteamStore is being subjected to a DoS attack then you may not be able to use it (lots of large packets), while this page is only pinging it (tiny packet, little bandwidth used). Adam Carter · 3 January 2014 - 07:38

THIS is how you fix if as a full user base, we all need to work together or it will be like the tragedy of the commons.
1) Stop downloading games DO IT AFTER THE SALE you games are not running away
2) If you are trading then try not to span or LINK to community page (like picuture ads) as it takes away from community service
3) DONT keep hitting refresh on the card you want for 1 cent less pay up and just get it you have had plenty of deals moving on free up the server to to other stuff
4) If you are trading with some1 discuss the trade BEFORE had that way you waste less bandwidth in deciding what to put and chatting there fast you close the trade the less bandwidth used
5) if you done trading log off give some1 else a chance come back once sales is over
AS you can see if we all work together to reduce the bandwidth usage on the server side WE CAN FIX THIS OUR SELF!!! Long will STEAM
P.S Valve you going to hire me for PR?

Haven't been able to access the Steam store since I got up eight hours ago. Other services are still operational, such as player profiles, chat, inventory, and market.
