Can't Access Realtor - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Try alternative urls such as

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

You have to wonder if it was an attack or just a bad server/host, what reason is there to target a real estate site? I shall go elsewhere from now on, especially as on other sites it's easier to narrow searches down to save time

This site has been down for 3 days (it is now 6/19/14). Now I can get to the homepage, but not log into my account and when I enter a local city in the US to search for, it tells me "not found" and suggests I try "international cities" instead. Please note our update on service disruption:
Move, Inc. Reports a Distributed Denial of Service Attack

Move, Inc., (NASDAQ:MOVE), a leading provider of online real estate services, today reported its websites are experiencing a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.

The attack directs massive amounts of traffic to our websites and makes®, Top Producer® Systems, and Move's other Internet services inaccessible. Move operates®, the official website of the National Association of REALTORS®.

Move and its network service providers are working quickly to assess and resolve the outages with the least amount of disruption to consumers and customers. Move has no evidence that this attack includes or has resulted in any compromise of data or other content on its websites. Move is working closely with federal law enforcement to identify the persons responsible for the attack, which began mid-day Tuesday, June 17, 2014.

DDoS attacks are a growing problem for online businesses. DDoS attacks are sent by people or botnets, a collection of Internet-connected programs communicating with other similar programs to perform tasks.

There you go not hard to know where the problem is and should not be issue to fix unless one don't know how or hardware problem and doesn't have it on site. That would be very concerning considering the amount of money realtors have invested in the dues to make the site.

All you folks who are saying shameful: would you be saying shame on your grocery store if they'd suffered damage as a result of a storm and had to be closed for a day or two?

This is a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack, something I'm sure they wouldn't have expected and very difficult to handle if one does expect it.

Lighten up, people, this is an opportunity for you to appreciate what you have. If you want to do something about it, talk to your friendly government representative and let them know they need to be doing more to prevent/stop DDoS attacks. Oh, and keep your computer anti-virus up-to-date and use a firewall/router between your computer and your network connection otherwise YOUR computer is likely participating in the attack.
