Can't Access Yahoo Mail - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Try alternative urls such as,,

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

My service was down before I went to dinner around 4:45 pm EST. Thought my alternate email address was causing the problem and when I tried to access, had Error msg. I posted my email problem with the group I get majority of my emails from not realizing they wouldn't be able to get in touch with me. Figured the system was down, turned my tablet on and found 44 msgs. Read, tossed some of them and started to recharge. Went back again after charging and guess what? No emails again! It can't be my fault. I have a gmail acct but don't know how to create folders for certain mailings. Can you help me out? Sure would appreciate it. Thanks!

What happened to Yahoo? In the 90's everything worked. Now it is a junk pile. Did anyone want all the changes to email? I didn't . Every day it seems like there is a new bug. Evidently fixes are thrown into production without a test. You folks went from a world leader to a train wreck.

We haven't been able to log into either Yahoo or Yahoo mail (US) for two days now. I have tried three different computers and two different accounts, all with the same result. I can access my Yahoo account on my mobile phone with no problem, however, even when I am connected to the same Wifi network that the computers are connected to. I have not been able to log into any Yahoo service (Flickr, mail, support pages etc) for a couple of weeks ... the only way to override the issue is to change my DNS to an open server rather than using my ISP DNS ... My ISP has suggested contacting Yahoo to log the issue ... but there seems to be no way to log a query with a customer support team, other than being directed to pre-formatted issues and response which do not address this issue at all in terms of resolution. I am totally uncomfortable with relying on open DNS all the time to perform basic internet activities. This is not a problem with my computer (although I spent days reformatting my computer in search of an internal issue) or my ISP who have suggested it may be to do with Yahoo network providers. Totally frazzled by this experience.

I am having the same issue of everybody logging in to yahoo mail since yesterday. I am in Indonesia. However I may have found a solution. Install Hola VPN add-on like to your firefox or chrome. Then clean the cache and cookies. Restart firefox. Go to Hola add-on and set the VPN to US and then log in to yahoo mail. It should work. There must be a problem with the connection from your country and yahoo servers. Try my method, maybe it will fix your problem. It may ask you to change your password once.

Thursday, Friday and today, error 16. When it does return, unable to download, receive errors and only says "dismiss" as an option. Yahoo mail freaking sucks!

Yahoo mail won't let me in, keeps telling me my ID or password is bad. When I use the "forgot your login information" option, the email to my gmail account never arrives. What the heck happened to Yahoo mail?

Yahoomail isn't working well since June 5th when they stopped support for IE8, but I don't know why users having IE9 and IE10 and 11 have problems as well is it going to continue like that ? Yahoo should inform users about this, because if we can't access our accounts, we might as well go to other mail services.

Apparently their servers have crashed. All you can do is wait. Considering how often this happens and how slow Yahoo mail is all the time now, they either have junk servers or no clue what they're are doing, or both.

I can sign in only Yahoo says now; Invalid ID or password. Please try again using your full Yahoo ID. And that isn't working. Hope the problem is fixed very soon.

Before this I couldn't sign in, when I filled in my YahooID and password, it looked like frozen. Nothing reacts...

Yahoo mail cannot login (startup screen ok, but does not submit sign-in request) (UK), same issue as last night. Both with firefox and IE, saved & typed password, etc. Last night was up around 15 minutes later.

I can get into emails just fine, but when I try to get into account info, password helper, etc., the webpage attempts to load but becomes unresponsive & finally times out due to inactivity. I've been trying to get a temp. password for the app-specific password option for devices for the last 4 hrs, but I still haven't gotten anywhere..

Yahoo Mail Login is suddenly being very slow to unresponsive. I'm experiencing not other website delays nor any internet connectivity issues. It's taken nearly 15 minutes to log back in from my home computer.

My problem is that the loading of yahoo mail is taking too long. I do not know the cause. I will tray it now to see if Mail yahoo. com is down or not. thanks so much.

I am experiencing the same problem as other users. When I forward/send an email and press the SEND button, it just sits there. But I rebooted my PC and found that the email was sent. Just now, I cleaned out my spam folder but when I press to look at my in-box messages, it just sits there. Definitely something WRONG. This began last night -- 6-5-14 8pm CST...

Same as so many others, my send button does nothing since last night. Now I'm having trouble even opening emails or going into options to try known fixes for such issues. Its smelling like G-mail o'clock.
