Can't Access - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

3/29/16, @2:30pm ET, not email service, this is a good lesson to go with a company like google/gmail services, the infrastructure of a compnay like inbox is not longer up todays standards, i rely on my inbox email for business and i just learn my lesson, i will back up everything and move to a reliable email hosting. Good luck to all of you!!

John Clark · 25 January 2016 - 09:36

I know its difficult and this site gives a notion of wahts going on with other users but the the fact that is available is not what counts - can we get to the email server is what counts. If this is mainatenace then it needs to be done faster and not interrupt service at critical times - I know its round the world but it needs to be looked at and dealt with.

Last night I got ALL of my folders and old emails back !!
STILL not an email from them as to why that just happened, it just did.
So maybe they are getting everything in order.
I do hope that they are still staying in business. I will pay the $0.74 a month to help them !!
But would like a general email to go out to everyone that reassures us all that they ARE IN BUSINESS and not leaving !

John Clark · 13 January 2016 - 20:58

Also meant to say that it is so 'worrying' when you rely on a provider and then what if they were not there any more - what a hassle thinking about changing to another provider - what a lot of work and how long to get it all covered. May need to think about how to make myself a little safer in this regard. I wonder how though? - other than using gmail or hotmail types which are not to my liking.

I just got an email that says..
"Due to a recent server problem some email accounts were deleted. Over the last couple of days our technicians had been working non-stop and they have resolved the server problem.

We are now restoring the missing email accounts and they should be fully restored over the next few days.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience which may have been caused."

There is no way that they can only restore paying customer contacts/saved emails and NOT the free people. It is ALL saved together !!! That is part of their back up.
I don't mind paying the $0.74 a month and was going to do that since I like their product and they don't "look' at my emails like Google/Yahoo/Hotmail do !!

If they get all my stuff back, I will set up a payment to them.
Hang in there everyone, looks like we should be getting out stuff back.

Yes, I have been experiencing the same issues since Friday, January 8th, 2016. I cannot send or receive emails in my email account. It won't even allow me to delete emails. I am truly disgusted.. My email also came back up finally and all my contacts and emails are gone. A lot of important stuff including contact information amd I have been using Inbox for a long time and even refered many people to them and some even upgraded to a paid account. Since I am a free one there is no backup.. Well that is fine and I guess i learned my lesson and will back up no matter what. Looks like I have to go with the big boys now with Gmail and I will warn people about Inbox and what could happen. It is a shame as i loved the simplicity of Inbox and have everyoen blocked unless I approved them... Oh well. Once I figure out all the contacts I lost i will be closing my Inbox account...

Inbox isn't working to receive new email but I am able to access it to begin the very painful process of cutting and pasting old emails into a new account. Unless someone has another way??

Brian Yyi · 9 January 2016 - 21:55
· · Safari 9.0.2 on Mac

It amazes me that Inbox thinks it can maintain loyal users with BS like this. A simple notification prior to the upgrading with a warning that data could be lost would have meant I backed up all the saved info I ended up losing.

I am already starting to change all my email addresses and will terminate my relationship with Inbox asap. And any review sites I can find, I will gladly let others know about this experience. Xacti should be ashamed ....I wil never use any service or product associated with this company again!

Just an FYI. My email did come back this morning (after close to 4 days). I also had 4 mail responses from Inbox Support to my support tickets. Quote below:
"SUPPORT ANSWER(1/8/2016 11:02 am ET):
Dear User,

we are extremely sorry to inform you that due to the hardware issue we had been facing
since 1/5/2016, all the accounts which were available on that particular server were
deleted and their data is now lost, unfortunately.

The data for free accounts can not be recovered now because for free accounts, no backup
is available.

For paid accounts, dual backups were being made so their data might be restored but for
free accounts, data will not be recovered at all.

We have recreated the accounts for all the users but once again unfortunately, the data
can not be recovered.

We apologize once again. We tried our best to recover the data but hardware issue did not
allow us to do so..."

Since I had a paid account, mine had been backed up and restored. Now that I have cancelled my renewal, which was coming due in Feb, I will start the laborious process of notifying all my accounts, friend and associates of my new email, since clearly, I cannot stay on Inbox.

An interesting twist. I searched for the parent company of Inbox, Xacti on a Florida BBB site. Saw James Guerin listed as a principal. Searched for his name an Inbox and saw a corporate filing page from the FL Dept of State. Scrolling down, you see their public filings and one of them showed an actual signature with a phone number. (Read the reinstatement link). I called and Mr. Guerin says he doesn't even know what is, that he has a company just called Inbox. Uh huh...
