Browser Related Problems

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

It may be reachable to a ping, but won't allow upload or download of any files for nealy 24 hours now. Makes it a bit of a waste of space.

I always seem to have problems when uploading sending large files (>500MB). The error messages aren't very informative. I get things like:

"A system error occurred. Please contact YouSendIt Support with the error code: 1002"
"Problem Sending Your File. We are sorry. We were unable to send your file due to technical reasons."

If I'm trying to send multiple files, as soon as I get the error, it boots me out and doesn't remember the message or the files I was trying to upload, so I have to reenter everything again. The most frustrating thing is that when it has uploaded many files successfully, if any of the files has a problem, then it loses all of the files, it doesn't let you restart the files that failed. So you have to resort to uploading one file at a time and waiting until it finishes before uploading the next. Even simple photo sites keep the files that were successful and let you just retry the ones that failed to upload. They seem to have no error recovery at all.

Very few problems ever with YouSendIt. But, over the past two weeks, Hightail's errors and slow delivery is causing my clients to demand that I start sending files by Dropbox. I work on deadlines and this CANNOT continue! If the rest of August proves as difficult, I will cancel my account with Hightail.

My Yousendit is back on. Hallalooya!! I signed up quickly with CitrixShareFile just before. You can use the free trial for 30 days (you'll need a credit card). When yousendit came back up I cancelled my trial with ShareFile, no problemo. I'd like to try them out again when I have more time, yousendit is sooooo sluggish at the moment.
