If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

They were great while they lasted - but I would like to get my credits back - still had quite a bit of credit on the site.

OK...I just GOOGLED: "gomusicnow" and hit this site: "http://gomusicnow.us/" which then leads to this site: "http://www.mp3va.com/"

it's too bad this site is down. as most of people told, this site is really cheap. I got more than 600 songs from gomusicnow.com and I didn't mind to pay them at all.. does anybody knows what is the real problem actually? i found gomusicnow.us and said in the website that this is the replacement of gomusicnow.com, is this true?

Edit: arrgh..just realized the replacement is mp3Va..it's not the real gomusicnow.com :-(

Any news of whether we can get our money back? I havent used it for a while and never got free downloads like some of you. Just annoying that they packed up shop and took all our mula in doing so.

I have been trying to log into GoMusic for months now and the site tells me my password is incorrect. I still have money in my account and my passwords are correct! When i email them, i dont receive a response???

Downloading of music was FREE for ages before the site closed. I'd used the site for years and it was great, but always knew that something wasn't 'quite right', that's why in the early days I didn't ever credit much money to my account. Use your brains and look what's in front of you sometimes people!! Using MP3VA now...so far so good :-)

Sam Skwirl · 13 January 2014 - 19:01

Switched to www.iomoio.com I used goMusic since 2000 for all my music downloads. My library is now at 300 GB. I did get a few hundred albums while gomusic was free at the end of its life.

Stu Walton · 10 January 2014 - 22:35

I haven't been able to load funds for more than a year, but was not aware that you could download for free anyway. To answer one earlier question, I am in South Africa and am experiencing the same problems as all of you. I started using MP3VA when I couldn't recharge my account, and am still using it. The tracks are US 0.15 each, I also use Megaboon.com. Their tracks are US 0.10 each and have just had a months special at US 0.05 per track. None of it for free, but hey 10c a track is a bonus.

Ericka Murray · 3 January 2014 - 13:32

I've just realised the site is down. I still have credit on it. That's so unfair. I know it was down before for a while and came back. I was not getting songs for free though like some people were. This is a balls!! I'm pissed off. They least they could have done was warn account holders that they may be shutting down and then we could have used our credit.

Francisco Rodrigez · 26 December 2013 - 00:39

Come on people, do any of you believe this site was legit? The .RU should have been a warning if nothing else. You were paying for stolen music. It's no surprise they shut down without warning, and if you spent 2 minutes to read the fine print, it clearly states no refunds when you add money to your account.

I'm disappointed they're gone, they were one of the best music sites I've ever found, but I had no delusions going in. I knew this site was grey market at best.

Tom Turman · 24 December 2013 - 11:59
United States · Cox Communications

More than likely this site was forced down for legal reasons. The site, like several others, were a bit sketchy. If that's why the site is now gone, don't expect to get any money back. That money would be in the possession of whatever agency/authority seized the site.

Debbie Wilson · 18 December 2013 - 22:57

Darn, havn't been on the site for a few months and only just found out it no longer exists. I've also been able to download for free for the last year, and have been using them for the last 7 years. This site will be sorely missed.

I'm really happy for all of these jerks screaming at those of us who still had money in our accounts. Nice that you were getting free downloads HOWEVER, not all of us were. Have used the site since it was MP3.ru and been very happy with it. As it was so cheap not too upset at losing my $20 but despite what people are saying I haven't been getting it for free - last album I downloaded was about 3 months ago and it wasn't free, neither have the individual tracks I have downloaded.

Dale Ann · 28 November 2013 - 23:24

I had about 30 cents left. I have used it this year and still paid 9 cents per download. I never saw free downloads. It was a good run. I think about 6 or 7 years.using the initial $20 deposit, then after a year, they put $10 more dollars into my account. I can't complain at all. Hard to find songs, great prices and easy to download. I hope they come back, but if not, I'm happy with what they provided.

I cant believe people still say they had money in the account as its about a year that you could not reload, and we got a years free music. I will miss gomusic, as it was either very cheap or free music. Now we have to pay soo much to itunes for music. I hope that it comes back bigger and better one day!

Geez. I mean, it was a good deal and all, but I did have between 10-15 in my account, didn't know it was "free" downloads for the last year and well, that kinda sucks. RIP Gomusic.

Yea, I also don't believe the people saying they had $20/$30 in their accounts when it closed.. its been free for ages, and even when it wasn't the songs where so cheap that $10/$20 latest ages anyway

Jessica Coleman · 23 November 2013 - 17:53

My account reached $0 almost a year ago and I was unable to reload but was still able to download music. I don't believe any of these people saying that they had $80 on your account... who puts that much money on an account to download songs that cost 15 cents?! I'm just sad I can't download anything anymore. 15 cents or free!

Knowing it has gone into some legal suit, and all along i know that i am paying too little for royalties and way to cheap than iTunes store. I have been trying to use up my credits from 80 to 3 bucks for last 4 months. I thought i could deplete my credits but they got busted faster than i could finish. Thank you Gomusicnow!.. you have been nice and courageous to run a website like this and charging the world so cheap per song and album. Hope you guys come back again with other website. Andrew Bauer · 13 November 2013 - 11:19

I wasn't aware that the site was down until today (Nov. 13). I understand that they had a policy about not granting refunds, and I thought about that when I added funds (I've been on the site since 2006), but I guess I expected the site to actually BE there, and that the no-refund thing was more about not refunding money you had up there to purchase songs once it was transferred, not about not giving people money back that they never had a chance to use. It wasn't like I didn't like the product and demanded my money back--I liked their selection and prices (I actually paid for every song I downloaded--9 cents or 15 cents--every time). There was no warning, no message on the site or emailed to members saying "Hey, we're shutting the site down in 30 days--you have until such-and-such date to use your remaining funds or lose them." Nothing. One day there, the next gone. People who didn't pay for their downloads have no reason to complain, but those of us who DID do have a right, and they should refund unspent money to those who faithfully used their site and never asked for a refund, especially since every time you added funds they forced you to add higher amounts (first, the minimum was $20, then $30, then $40...) If you're going to force my hand as far as how much I have to add before I can use it, then you should refund any unused portion if you shut your site down. I didn't shut it down, I didn't remove my funds, I didn't get a choice in the matter. This was YOUR choice.

First the site was very clear that they did not give refunds so you should have thought about that as you loaded money. Second to those being critical of people taking advantage of the free download learn something before you criticize. They were not taking money because they could not find a payment provider that would do business with them. Third if you thought money you spent was somehow flowing to the artists give your head a shake. This was no more legit than pirate bay hence the payment provider issue.

I had been getting my music free for the last several months. Prior to that I had been paying and doing so gladly! The site was so cheap! One day when my account balance was at like 12 cents I clicked to download an album and it worked. I went onto another album and it worked as well. I figured my credit card was going to be charged that I had on there from before, but nope... nothing. For the next few months I had been getting all my songs. NOW I wish I had gone on there more, but I'm very grateful for what I did get. I'LL MISS YOU GOMUSICNOW.COM!!

I loved that website! I hope it's going to be fixed up. I got most of my music on that website... and even more when you could download them for free (probably a bug to fix)... I know that there's other website to download music, but this was my most favorite one... and the first I've used.

Before being able to download music for free on that website, I paid for every song I downloaded... I just randomly started being able to download them for nothing... but the people who didn't get them for free HAVE a right to be more upset than those who could get them for free.

This was the best music site because it was so cheap. I started in 2006 when it was still called gomusic.ru by depositing some money. Lately though my account was on $0 but I could still get the music free, I didn't see where you could even edit your credit card information. I would have gladly kept paying to keep the site up.

To all of you who keep saying the music was free for almost a year before the site went down so stop crying, you don't totally know what you are talking about. For long time users like me & others who had built up a balance and if it still existed NOTHING was free not a single download. The amount was still being subtracted from our account balance. Many of us still had funds available when the site went silent. Yes, SOME folks managed to download a significant amount of songs for free, but others like me got NOTHING and appear to have lost unused money as well...

Ugh - what a pity!!! This was the best site ever!!! I've been using it for 9 or so years - no hassles whatsoever, extensive database, a fabulous site all in all!! Joined it at the time because my know it all & extremely ethical BF (I say that with great respect!!) at the time told me that his research revealed that they paid the artists more than what their own record labels paid them per song downloaded - a philosophy that I fully support. Many of my friends used it on my recommendation and everyone loved it!!

It's definitely dead, people.. if you try to 'ping' the hostname it simply does not resolve to any address. If you do a 'nslookup' on the hostname, it is unknown to any Domain Name Server on the web. In short - whether or not the server has (probably) been turned off.. its name has been de-registered world-wide too... which is serious and terminal.. they are not just down for maintenance, they are down deep down bye bye. I have been with gomusic for over six years. When I googled it, I found that apparently the U.S is fighting the exchange rate (Gomusic is so cheap because it converts from Russian currency - ergo we win) U.S hates the savings essentially and has been fighting gomusic for months to force them to comply to their rules. So gomusic came back and basically has lifted their middle finger and offers us free music...BUUUUT as you can see we are now "illegally" downloading music which the U.S can get you for... boooo I was so stoked with it!

I have been unable to add funds since 2012 but have been able to download all my music free since my funds dried up. I am still able to download free from GoMusicnow as of 5th March 2013. They are also still updating with new albums etc. I don't understand why but there is still nowhere on the site showing credit card details or offering the ability to add funds. Also, there are no prices against albums or tracks any more. Fill yer boots!

So who do you think is behind it? Who stands to gain by the site being down? GoMusicNow is the perfect political target - undercutting a lot of big business interested, and based in the home of our cold war nemesis. Let's just say I have my suspicions.

Ok, so I used the site earlier today and it let me download stuff and now I can't even get to the site. I started using this site about 5 years ago but I'm getting really fed up with how often the site is down. I know it's a good site because the music is free and everything but I just wish they would fix whatever problem they have much more quickly!

If you want a site that still is working well go to mp3panda.com. You can still add money and the prices are as good as Mp3va.com which is having trouble adding money other than using VISA.

Okay I had been using this site since it was still Mp3Search.ru and never had an issue. I stopped using it when it stopped letting you add money to your wallet. I decided to give it another try when I couldn't find the album I wanted in the Google Play Store (and I refuse to use iTunes.) I only had $.20 cents in my account and couldn't add money. I decided to just click on "buy entire album" and hope I will be prompted to add funds. It didn't and let me download the album. Five days later and I'm still looking for charges to appear on the card I have on file. Nothing yet.

It's one of those fine-line legality scenarios. Rest assured, at those prices they're not paying the music publishers their cut like everyone that sells music is supposed to, so it's illegal in the US. The site servers, however, are located in Russia. That grays the line because the US can't regulate a site that's legal in its own country, and going after end-users proved to be an ineffective waste of money years ago. This is why the "PIPA" law was proposed last year, which would allow the govt and copyright holders to stifle access to sites like this. But PIPA has not passed yet due to huge protests and the difficulties caused by the international element. Whether they are giving downloads for free right now or not is irrelevant.

I bought my son an MP3 player for Christmas. I heard how cheap gomusicnow is and created him an account. I wanted to put money on it but it won't allow me to. I downloaded music thinking I must of got free downloads by creating the account. But it kept letting me download.

My question is... is this legal??? I sent them a comment asking for advise but they have not replied to me. My other question is.. what other sites have cheap music downloads that are legit sites? Thanks for the help and Happy New Year all.

Their Terms & Conditions clearly state the it is strictly a Pre-pay basis and their Privacy Policy states that they don't store CC info.

Be careful! It SEEMS to be free, but who can guarantee, that the will not try to charge the CCs afterwards ?

I'm not able to add funds to my account either and I have received no response from their support team. Too bad, I love the site.

It's almost as if they've had so much trouble fixing the "money-adding" issue, that they've just made everything temporarily free until they get the problem solved. No more hassling with complaints and credits so they can focus on getting the billing problem fixed.

The "Wallet", the money-adding pages and even the PRICES just vanish after you've spent whatever pre-pay cash you had left on your account. From an IT standpoint, these are purposeful changes that require human interaction; not just a site error or concidence. And the circumstances don't really point to them being hacked.

That's my theory. They definitley haven't just walked away and let the servers run, for they're still adding new releases to their selections. Green Day's "Tre!" ablum is on the Recent Updates page, and it just came out less than 2 weeks ago. Happy downloading!

ive just been in a downloading frenzy, make the most of it, i cant see there being a problem as its a legit site, must be a program error or been hacked

Mmmmh, I am facing the same... no balance visible (but must be empty)... downloads possible... what will happen ??

I had a similar issue like WIm Bergs. I had 6 cents in my account left, which isn't enough to buy anything. I clicked on the buy button for 2 songs, and then proceeded to download them, and they both worked. I can't see an account balance and I don't know if my debit is being charged for the two purchases. I have the option to "download" any album now. None of the songs have a price (9c or 15c) like they used to. I don't know what is up, but I'm skeptical because I don't want to rack up a huge charge on my debit or do something illegal. If you get any news on this, please let me know.

I tried a couple of times to put money on my account, also without result. I decided to spend my last 39c and I think when I clicked on the 5th track trying to spend the last 3c credit the magic happened. The button 'buy entire album' changed into just 'download' and all the 9 cents dissapeared. Thinking they might have changed their prepaid policy to postpaid I downloaded the rest of the album. A few days later I saw 39c dissapear from my bank account. Now two weeks later I didn't see any visa withdrawals for the rest... You could try the same and spend your last cent and see what happens...:) However I don't want to be taken responsible for anything that still might happen afterwards. I don't promote free or illegal downloading here.

To the two people claiming to be able to download for free. If you did - SHARE with us WHAT you did to get them for free. I have NEVER been able to download anything for free. Once you buy something it is in your "My Downloads" and can be accessed as all times.
