Can't Access eBay UK - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

ebay uk as well as ebay belgium ebay.be is has been out since 20:00hrs (21h belgische tijd). You can see items, but after logging in cannot access your ebay or your watch list.
This is a massive drawback for every single user selling under auction format as the listings will end at ridiculously low prices, ebay should cancel the listings and relist or list for longer, compensating for the delay.
I thought somebody was hacking into my ebay/pc or that it was because I had to re-register with avast today, but no, it's ebay since everybody is in the same boat...

Just spoken to someone in Ebay in the UK as one week on the site is still not working for me. He told me there is a definitely a technical problem which is between Ebay and BT. BT has said they would roll out a fix between 3-5 March which clearly has not happened as he said he has been inundated with calls today from people who are still having problems accessing parts of the site. He admitted they just don't know what has gone wrong and the only solution he could offer was to use a Smartphone and avoid BT .

I would like to thank the ebay staff for being so helpful and friendly in this bad situation !!! haha. Only Kidding. What a complete bunch of idiots. Same problem, can't access messaging or some of the other ebay items....they have offered the first free listings since January, starting midnight last night until Monday midnight. Obviously this has caused sellers to be listing like mad and so the site is probably crashing....ebay still doesn't get it...that free listings all the time would only result in more fees for them? Dipsticks. As for saying the problem is with BT users....that's like saying the problem is only with the cars that have wheels! This ebayer is taking the day off...and probably the future off from ebay. Greed is one thing...stupidity is something else!

I've spent over 16 hours on eBAY UK since 8 am this morning as a seller. I have rang eBAY 3 times, been given no information of any use and nothing but excuses. I've done everything I can and 16 hours spent without earning a penny...eBAY's response and lack of clarity to buyers and sellers...really...they're hardly covering themselves in glory. All I would say to any buyers out there, please bear with us sellers... 99% will always do all they can for you. Thankyou, Ian

Having real problems today on ebay. Can't see my messages, best offers not showning went sent. I have 5 items that are going to sell in the next 2 hours and I don't know if my potential customers will have the same issues. What is going on ebay?

Tearing my hair out as I have a business Ebay shop and personal Ebay account. At times can get onto Ebay site then next click it has gone. It is an Ebay problem nothing to do with Internet etc. I have tried using Google and Interente explorer on PC and Laptop and using app on phone using free wifi in a cafe. Can't relist, message customers, mark as dispatched and I have only had 2 orders today which is really unusual so buyers must be frustrated too. Nothing on the announcements page of Ebay when I did manage to get to it either.

I have had problems since 0900hrs in Chiswick West London. I cannot open messages and when I do I can't reply. The homepage keeps freezing and you can't even open contact Ebay. The whole site is in turmoil. Sort it out Ebay we pay you enough in fees. Oh and being bombared with less advertising might stop the site from crashing

This is complete BS...eBAY has NOT been working properly all day. Actions of any sort are slow...if you are fortunate and buyers cannot purchase. This is an absolute disgrace. Perhaps I should charge them for the 8 hours I have wasted. Perhaps their MD would like his earnings stopped due to eBAY's complete and utter incompetence.

For people out there who know how to do this, then temporary change your Computers IP addres, to United States. This will give you a slow access to eBay, however I think most would agree that a slow access is better than none at all. However, it is important to remember to put your IP address back to UK once you're done.
