Can't Access eBay UK - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

Down again, both me and e-bay. Fed up of paying (a lot) for a service that isn't up to standard. Haven't been able to list items for half an hour, now can't even log in.

Ebay are not interested in the 'little guys' such as us and haven't been since they got the 'big guys' with the big brands involved.I spoke to a customer service operative some time ago who actually told me that they are trying to move away from the small 'domestic' seller and gearing to corporate companies who in her words ' will enable Ebay to give a better service to the buyer ' ... hahahahaha .. Well guess what ? they are getting pee'd off too ! Shares are falling like autumn leaves, but what will happen there ? Sweeteners to the big guys again and the merry-go round continues for those that made Ebay successful in the first place . Ebay will never give any compensation to us ordinary folk ... Our pockets aint deep enough !

Both of listing form and sign up page are experiencing problems right now; they seem to round in circle. Sign up page keeps dropping the sign up details and asking for it again repeatedly

Still can't search or bid, everything else appears to be working. They must have lost a fortune over the weekend, and I've had several messages from customers who were unable to bid and the item they wanted ended.

Just had an item sell for more than £200 less than its worth because Ebay crashed 30 mins before item ended. I am not going to sell at this and ebay should refund all me fees for the items i have sold this month to compensate for their inept service. bloody rubbish service. Who wants to start up a rival site????

Since they started taking a precentage for the Postage, I've slowly been moving away from Ebay and onto another similar site called Ebid. Same format, but with a lot less fee's. I only have a few things listed and that's only because they were put on before I started listing stuff at the other site.
And I totally agree that everyone looses out when the site is down for whatever reason.
However for those who have been watching items for days and loose out on bidding for it, then I have no sympathy, because if you really wanted it, you would have bid on it there and then.

It has been 6 hours and still unable to log in - happened before a week ago but only for an hour, so this is weird that it is taking a very long time today to log in to make payments to sellers. Using a different web-browser makes no difference and neither does clearing catche/cookies, resetting web browser - have tried just about everything, so definitely major technical problems for this to be a recurring problem for many who have comented and not just myself.

If you have chrome just open a window in chrome and paste this: http://anywhere.ebay.co.uk/browser/chrome/welcome/ you can then log into uk ebay but now your account. but at least you can search for one of your listed items and then look at other items you have for sale. Then you can find out if you have bids on your items.

so I'm selling something and the auction finishes today, the current highest bid is currently about 1/3rd of the lowest price I've ever sold one of these items for, it's well bellow my cost price and I almost always have a flurry of bids in the final few minutes. If this was a cyber attack, Ebay will not report it as such, as this is what these attackers want. There are two current threats, ISIS and more likely Russia after EU and USA issued sanctions. Its relatively easy to attack a website, you can overload it with software that transmitted to many computers and you can hack into it and cause damage. Ebay is fully backed up and when it comes back online you will see that as all items are still there. Ebay may have been asked for huge amounts of money for attack not to happen. Its best never to pay or you get more attacks. Many big corporate companies been dow over last few weeks and this stinks of such a attack. Ebay should look after any customers that have lost out, but down time this may well be out of their hands . They may even have shut it down to stop an attack. But do not expect this to be the explanation given when it comes back online.

In the same boat David, How are we supposed to run a small business with the tools we pay for when they do not work? I feel a refund is needed...
