We have tried pinging EarthLink website using our server and the website returned the above results. If earthlink.net is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access EarthLink - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Try alternative urls such as earthlink.com

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

@Michael Hammes- Thanks, that worked for me.
For weeks I have been having the problem of some websites accessible but not others--also sometimes email. I contacted EL tech support, after 40mins on hold I got a polite guy who wanted to find out which sites were unreachable, then to scan my computer for malware--I told him it happens on all my systems and I had no more time.

Michael said he changed his DNS servers to Google's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. (There are directions on this page how to do that. I just changed it for IPV4). Afterwards I went back to the same Firefox page with the hard error "Problem loading Page, " did a reload and reached it. Same for others. Thanks again Michael.

This is frustrating been having connection problems for 3 days in California. Pages come up half a**ed.
Bobbie Sue in tech support, who's real name is really something of the Hindi language which apparently Earthlink thinks we are all too stupid to realize we are being connected to India, keeps trying to tell me it's my equipment instead of the Earthlink servers.

Historically Earthlink servers in San Jose Ca ALWAYS go down when it rains. Not sure that their servers are still located in Ca but if so you'd think they'd be smart enough to figure out how to deal with a little rain. Not like we get much.
Why are we paying for a service that we can't use, we should all demand refunds. Perhaps that will get their attention!

Don't understand how the Graphs at the top of this page and more importantly the summary can state that "Earthlink is UP and reachable" when it is obvious from all the comments that this is not so. In NC, was not able to access email around 10:00 p.m. 2-4-2014. In the a.m. same problem, so I called Tech Support, who wasted about half an hour of my time, making me check my settings, Password, restart router, etc. Finally decided that maybe I was right, THEY had a problem. Told me they'd fix it in a couple hours. That was eight hours ago and no progress. What I really love is they also tell you on phone voice mail to check support.earthlink.net which is also inaccessible. No Twitter update, no Facebook updates.

As a last ditch effort I am compiling hard-copy information which I plan to send to the individuals shown below. I encourage every customer who has an issue that has not been resolved in a REASONABLE length of time to the same. Be courteous and factual and politely ask, "what can YOU do to resolve this issue?". If upper-management of Earthlink does not see to it that these issues are RESOLVED once and for all I can only assume they no longer value long-term customers or ANY customer who is having an ongoing issue.

My Earthlink service is down and has been for the last 6-1/2 hours. I thought it was a problem with my computer, so I saved everything, rebooted, got onto webmail to check directly first, and realized it was Earthlink and not on my end. So I called and the recording said there was an email outage. It gave an option of being called back when it comes on, but I am heading to bed soon. I checked on their website which claims everything is up and running. Two other sites which check to see if things are down also claim the problem must be mine alone. Go figure! At least their voice message admitted a problem. Wonder how long it will take to fix. Which someone would post what is actually going on.... When will the government let us take our email addresses with us to another company? My internet service is with Charter because Earthlink was such a problem, but I still have to pay Earthlink $40/year to keep my email address. And when they go down, so goes my email!

I have earthlink and I am getting e-mails. I had 2 in the last hour. So it may not be effecting everyone.

Earthlink said the problem is on their end as far as not being able to receive email. It's been down for me since 4:15 CST Oct. 3, 2013.

I don't understand why the Facebook page for Earthlink doesn't report this problem. Plus, it's been down for me for 5 hrs. Earthlink "chat" says it's nationwide and the problem is on their end. Ask for service credit for every day you can't get email. don't put your eggs in one basket. get a gmail address, a yahoo address, and whatever else is out there. this is awful.

No email since late last night. No information forthcoming from Earthlink, other than email not working. Impossible to reach anyone there.

I had no phone or internet service from around 10pm 9/27/13 to AM 9/30/13.
Call so earthlink were repeatedly dropped and I had to give up after my cellphone died after being on hold for about 1hr 15min.

Earthlink is down in NYC. Can't access any page on Earthlinks website including webmail. Tested it using cellular data as well as my fios network. Web access otherwise is fine.
