We have tried pinging Dropbox website using our server and the website returned the above results. If dropbox.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Browser Related Problems

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

Geographical locations are important too. The outage seems largely to be in the Northeast US and California right now, but I'm curious if others are experiencing it (England, Japan).

As of 4:00 PM EST, in North Carolina, Dropbox is down with a 500 error and improper syncing.

**update- seems it isn't a dropbox problem more a browser problem. The folders aren't visible on safari or firefox but I can access my dropbox account properly on google chrome, so try that if you are having issues.

I have tried Safari, and Omniweb on my Mac and still cannot access my files through the desktop web version. Firefox won't let me log in at all! I know my files are still there since I have several links I had saved and I clicked them and was able to download them again. So they are still there. It just looks like an empty dropbox. Oh, and it won't even let me use the dropdown from my name to log out!!!

This sucks and it has been down for several hours from what I can tell... The filp side is that it appears the syncing is still working because if I put a file in one of my folders I can access the file from any of my other devices. But the website is down for sure...

As of this morning at 4:10am PT, nearly all users (over 99%) can access their files on dropbox.com. The Photos tab is still turned off, but you can access your photos via the Files tab on dropbox.com or the desktop client. We’re continuing to make a lot of progress restoring full service to all users, and are doing so in careful steps.

About 5% of our users are still experiencing problems syncing from the desktop client, and about 20% of users are having issues accessing Dropbox through our mobile apps. Within a few hours, we’ll be rolling out a change that will further improve things for those users. We’ll give an update after that.

Your files have been safe this entire time. Thanks again for your patience."

Dropbox website on pc is functioning. Have added new files with no problem. Removed the desktop app and tried to download it again from Dropbox site but the setup failed. dropbox still DOWN IN THE uk, i cant sign in now on my computer (iMac), reinstalled and still wont let me sign in, it's actually becoming quite an issue as I need the work for Uni :/

Still down in South Florida. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No help. Now I can't even re-link my account back. I use Boxcryptor and it will not open the website encrypted files. They need to be opened through the Dropbox local app.

My desktop is working fine with Dropbox but not my laptop. REALLY bad time for this to happen. Laptop endlessly says "Dropbox is starting"... and it goes on for hours.

Down in Thailand too. It start with stop upload photo from my Ipad then I unlink it and try to reinstall but never allow me to log in since. I still can access through website though but it just not allow my to link it with my ipad. It keep saying "check you email and password". Dropboxer please fix it!

Can't access my account properly. I can log in but some files are out of date on the website. Major concern as this is the first time I have had an issue.
