Someone has the RSS feed for this. Just showed up 2011 RSS feeds Year 2011 feeds so checked it out and says we will rebuild soon with bit coin donations accepted. Should be interesting. Ended up buying alot of software in the end because of that site. I don't do much of that anymore. best one was a hard driver recovery software I'm extremely loyal to..

It appears to be parked or redirected to - a generic page. What's the difference between a parked page and one created to simply capitalize on the name similarity. Again, is being *redirected* to

As an aside, what are the odds that someone at some LEA is monitoring who gets redirected to subdemon?

Demonoid Resurrected? An Interview With the Admins of
May 9, 2013

Yesterday the torrent world lit up with news that Demonoid had somehow been resurrected under the new domain However, the site was quickly taken offline by its host in the U.S. who claimed that it was serving up malware. With the site now back online with a new host, TorrentFreak caught up with its admins who tell us they have no malicious intent and simply want to bring a community back to together. While there is still uncertainty, one thing is absolutely clear – they do have the old Demonoid database.

d2Yesterday morning’s chaos is not something we experience often. Relentless emails all telling us the same thing – the great Demonoid seems to be back, but is it some kind of trap?

To try and discover more we spoke to a company called RamNode, the site’s host in the United States. Company owner Nick told us that had been hosting malware, but by last evening his stance had softened a little.

“The malware may not have been intentionally hosted on this VPS, ” Nick told TorrentFreak in an update. “It is possible that one of the ad banners running on the site triggered the malware alert. The server will still be removed from our network to prevent any further issues related to my company.”

Now, 24 hours later, is back online with a new host outside the U.S. and fortunately some of our other inquiries have now paid off. So, with the owners of the site speaking with us directly, we put forward a few questions.

“As we all know these communities of free file-sharing are currently under scrutiny by government and media powers so all involved wish to remain anonymous to avoid unnecessary complications and any further risk, ” the D2 domain owner told us.

Nothing particularly unusual there but what is somewhat strange is how has somehow been able to launch with the database from Demonoid including user details, torrents and comments – how do they explain that?

“It was, as we stated in the email to the user base, an unlikely set of events that flowed from the last Ukraine install. We kept the code safe waiting for Demonoid to return. When it didn’t return we purposely rebranded, to separate from Demonoid’s past and related issues, with the main goal of maintaining the community, ” we were told.

TorrentFreak tested an old Demonoid research account registered some years ago – it worked – as did one registered in more recent times. That goes someway to confirming the D2 owner’s claim that the database copy was taken from a July 2012 backup just after Demonoid’s shutdown.

So what other information culled from the old Demonoid is currently in D2's possession?

“Everything except the domain names which led to the rebranding to, ” the admin explains.

“What you see is the tracker database of the old Demonoid. We aren’t launching the forum at this time but we do plan to start an IRC channel in the near future so the community can interact in real time, ” the admin explains.

While on initial inspection there is a familiar look and feel (color changes aside), what D2 does not have is something that Demonoid was famous for – a tracker. All torrents are now tracked by outside sources/magnets which means that the site is now more like a sign-up version of The Pirate Bay than the semi-private offering users experienced before.

“This was done based on functional and legal necessity, efficiency and to take the site out of the negotiation of peer-to-peer file sharing. Also note that there is work in progress which will re-implement missing functionality and add new features, ” TorrentFreak was told.

Technicalities aside, there is also another big issue – that of trust. How can former users of Demonoid be confident of the site’s intentions? For example, is the site endorsed or approved by any former senior staff?

“No former admins have been involved with this rebranding or launch. This effort is independent and undertaken entirely for the benefit of the community. We do welcome past community moderators to help with d2 if they wish, ” we were told.

Thinking ahead, we posed another question to the admins of D2. Demonoid has a bit of a reputation as the comeback kid and in the past has reappeared online just when people think the show is over. If users migrate to D2 and that site gets momentum, what happens in the event that the real Demonoid comes back?

“If the previous admin group wanted the admin role back we’d have to figure out how to verify that it’s really them and then we’d work it out, ” we were informed.

“The great effort we made here is for the Demonoid community. We completely understand the community’s need to be cautious and questioning. We aren’t phishing or pushing malware or attempting anything malicious. We intend to do our best to keep the site up and current. It’s in the hands of the community to participate as they did before to co-create and thrive, ” the admins conclude.

More information as we get it...

Hello people
We all read the same news stories: The Demonoid servers shut down and seized in the Ukraine. The Demonoid admin team detained in Mexico. The domain snatched and put up for sale. The Demonoid trackers back online in Hong Kong, but then disappearing. We all wanted to believe that Demonoid would be resurrected once again; though it seems clear that this time it is really gone.

Now for some good news: The heart and soul of Demonoid lives on! Through an amazing sequence of unlikely events, the data on those Ukrainian servers has made its way into the safe hands of members of our own community and has now been re-launched as For the foreseeable future will remain a semi-private beta site and no new invitations to join will be issued until we are certain that the system is stable.

Demonoid may be gone, but the community lives on at d2! Welcome home.

at it's core this is true war, is that dramatic, and if we don't treat it as such, the free online environment is going to be the least of our worries. it only makes sense that it will start online - this is the source for free knowledge that can ultimately lead to a free-energy technology craving society (we now are conditioned not to crave for such things by almost bearable energy prices - oil, gas, electricity). when the collapse comes the whole public internet is going to be at risk - we can actually feel the importance of the internet which is to help us become truly connected with eachother, but right now we are like children dicovering a new toy.we should be confident that there's more to human counsciousness than the socially accepted dumbing down process of the controlled public media.

It's damn disappointing that those lame ass government wankers keeps shutting down all great torrent sites... Just because they and rest of the hotshots got enough money to buy all new and even old nostalgic movies of all time... I mean it's not just torrent sites, for me a community to meet people with same interests in movies that i got... And it's not like i download every single movie i enjoy.. I support and buy most of my favorit tv-shows movies that i feel are worth supporting... This new law is shit... Good luck and thank you for all the downloads. I will be waiting for your return. You guys are the best download site I ever come accross. Thanks again.

I don't why these sites that share stuff just don't ban the music torrents because that's why a lot of them are being shut down. If they ban the music torrents you bet there sites would last a lot longer.

Despite Demoniod being down, I've noticed that I'm still uploading to their tracker, so something must be working.

waiting for it to come back, this is my favorite site, don't like the others much. so I can't wait until this problem is fixed and they are back.

Well, i guess Demonoid is gone for good now.. it's a shame since many other torrent sites are plagued with fakes or viruses.

dos attacks are illegal in the us, are they in the uk and mexico? if so. seems a little hypocritical they use an illegal act to stop an illegal act. fyi, i just tried to buy, its not available to buy. if someone bought it already, i cannot say.

I've been with Demonoid for a long time. The site's been down on numerous occasions but they keep coming back. Let's hope they will come back. They've been down but never out.

Just want to say a big thank you to the admin @ demonoid for one of the best six years on the internet.. So sorry to hear this but if there's anything we all can do to help, let us know.. WE REALLY MISS YOU DEARLY...

Current movies are awful pieces of CGI garbage. Because most dopes out there have bad taste in current movies and shit music and cant wait for dvd rip torrents of them and because Demonoid was too stupid to put them on their site is why they're gone.

Face it.. you lost Demonoid cause you wanted hollywood swill batman, spiderman and justin bieber cds. That's Pathetic.! There were a lot of collectors and educators like myself who depended on the rare material on there that no one cared shit about going after to shut it down. Demonoid would have been left alone had it not posted current hollywood swill. If they ever come back, please pressure them not to have that garbage on again unless you like it in which case just keep your net flix account and wait for it to come out you jello mold of a soul.

TorrentFreak has reported that all demonoid, .ph and .me have been put on sale, thus it seems unlikely to return. Here is the link-

It's not coming back. The US Governemt and IPP raided and copied data from the servers and ordered a shutdown from the IP. It's not coming back, at least not yet.

I agree with Mary bt junkie went now if they can get another domain host then we should all be fine i miss it big time.

Gary Harrington · 9 August 2012 - 15:02

It looks like the domain host in ukraine has pulled its contract to and shut the servers down. Down to a possible problem in mexico by demonoid if they had been seized surley it would have happend years ago and not now. its defo to do with the domain host terminating its contract with for what ever reason lets hope they find another way back moving from canada to the ukraine and changing its name has probably got it noticed abit i think thats all ive got at the moment i will see what else i can find out and post as soon as i have something for everyone.

been down for a couple of weeks for me, was getting a demonoid error page but now getting connection error to server. just wish someone would get a answer either way instead of one saying they`ve been busted or a DDOS attack. miss the site since it`s been down, one of a few sites i actually trust
