We have tried pinging CreateSpace website using our server and the website returned the above results. If createspace.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access CreateSpace - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

HAving trouble logging in. Finally after about half hour. Then Member Dashboard is equally way too slow. Namely half hour wait after each click... Something seriously wrong here - it wasn't like this last time I was here.

Richard & Eddie.... With exception of the Chrome gibberish still gone, the CSpace site issues returned but not as bad. Site loads in Chrome & FFox but slowly. Other links/pages within site appear to load normally. It's within the account all the sluggish issues occur. I can eventually see the Digital Proofer etc. All other sites still engage normally. Still no word from CSpace on my latest inquiries.

Richard & Eddie.... found the solution. Even though CSpace did function correctly tonight in FFox (first login attempt since last post), Chrome and Safari were still problematic. PLUS in Chrome, for first time in long time, I saw gibberish again inside the Digital Proofer command buttons. I googled this. The first hit I checked was an Extensis font management program (which I use) thread.
In that thread someone suggested they fixed this gibberish issue by turning off any ADDED fonts (such as Arial) which may conflict with similar existing System Fonts.
I checked Extensis and sure enough. I had downloaded an Arial font for a job which was turned on. I turned off this Arial, even though the System Font Arial was still a default font.
Restarted Chrome & Safari to check CSpace. NO PROBLEM. No gibberish. Couldn't believe it.
If you have any duplicate system fonts ADDED with some font management program, turn them off. They can unpredictably conflict with default system fonts causing some websites not to load properly.

Hope this works for you.

To Eddie's response - I also checked Netgear router. Firmware is current. Not techie enough to know if this would be an issue. thanks for comments. Based on past computer troubleshooting, almost anything missed can be the solution.
This is why I firmly feel it's CSpace issue. I absolutely have no ideas left.

Hi Richard... CSpace has responded effectively to my emails of these issues by saying they are looking into it. However no solutions yet. I suspicion this... I believe they have different folks reviewing issues like this even from a single sender like me.
After each email, I received a reception confirmation from a different person each time.
In my last response, I noted this to them to have a SINGLE person reviewing all my threads/emails so they make sense rather than a new tech jumping in midstream because that's what couple responses have indicated... that they did not adequately read my first emails.
I received even further confirmation of my site issues when my client (another state on PC/Windows/IntExp) for these books said she was having similar login and site problems as I was having. This was just last night. Plus a website builder friend in MD also signed in to my book page and had similar issues with pages loading. She had to refresh several times for page to come up. And her Mac has newer OS than mine. I forwarded this to CSpace.
This is cross platform issue.
I also forwarded CSpace this site so they could see all the recent and past feedback for similar issues.
I'm not poo-pooing CSpace entirely. I still believe it's a site bug/glitch they haven't discovered yet. Until all these recent snafus, their site has worked fine.
Please inform if you have any resolutions. thanks much

I sort of fixed the problem by restoring my Linksys router to the factory settings. CreateSpace still hangs sometimes, but not like it did before. The CreateSpace site was the only site that caused problems so perhaps the router detected a security issue. I looked at the router settings and did not find a black list of sites or IP addresses, but I'm not a network expert so I might have missed something.

Anyway, I can't say for certain it was a CreateSpace issue. Can't say it wasn't either.

The web ... it's all magic.

Would you mind letting me know if you've had any action on this? I am having very similar problems and both Virgin Media and Createspace are not coming up with solutions as yet. I've tried all the usual things.

I submitted this to CSpace two days ago. The agent said to expect feedback early next week. I'm hoping this is a matter of site maintenance. If so, one would think they would at least alert users as to possible site slow down.
----------------------------
We have just published and purchased four books. All CSpace site functions have always worked fine as long as I've used it for couple years until last night.

I was attempting to upload an edited PDF. The site began to malfunction. Site loading extremely slow if at all, then when page loads, it's unformatted.

I have wasted over two hours now trying to resolve this. Cleared caches, history trails, cookies, restarts. Nothing works. ALL other sites I go to function correctly.... website builder sites, bank sites etc. Sites with high security. ALL function normally.

Safari, Chrome and Firefox all will not load CSpace properly. EVERYTHING is updated. Browsers, plugins like Flash and Javascript.

I've attached numerous screen captures as confirmation.

I noticed site performance slipping last week. Thus far I've tried Chrome, Safari, and now Firefox. None load properly the first time. I'm working off a MacBook Pro, but I tried an older MacBook Pro and experienced the same problem. Tried an Acer laptop - same deal. Went to another part of the state and tried. Same deal. The only time the site loads correctly the first time is with my Kindle Fire.

So in summary:
2 different locations and Internet providers
3 different units
3 different browsers.

Right now I need to load a new book and cannot.
