Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access Xero - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Hi, I've been having problems with a really slow Xero this morning, especially while reconciling my bank accounts. I normally use Google Chrome but thought I'd give Mozilla Firefox a go instead. And I've had no problems since. Just Google Chrome being the problem, perhaps?

I can log in but Xero is really slow. Its too slow to work in. All other internet use is fine. I been having troubles since 1 April and getting no response from Xero Customer Support so I am really unhappy with them at the moment. No longer any phone support available and its been 6 days since I contacted them. Something must be wrong with Xero but they are not telling me and I can't do my bookwork. When clicking reconcile I get this error code. And every thing is loading slowly. It's same for my partners in TX and CA.

Based in the UK. We have a 60mbps synchronous internet speed and have an efficient internet link. Xero speeds have become progressively slower to a point this morning where it has taken in excess of 3 minutes to load up the "Reports" menu and a further 3 minutes approx to access the particular report we require, let alone specifying the month or the department. This is total unworkable and unacceptable.

I only asked Xero support team a few weeks ago what their DR (disaster recover) plan or software was and they would/could not give me any information. Guess they should have thought about this back then?

Also there doesn't seem to be a way to export ALL of your company data from Xero either which isn't a good situation for the users either.

For those interested and dont want this to happen to their own servers I would highly recommend Double Take software by www.visionsolutions.com . My work can set you up with a HA/DR plan and software that actually works with immediate recovery in the event of an outage. www.availabilitysolutions.com.au
