Have been unable to update my Norton all day, says server issue. Several of the FB games will not load, they are timing out. My server seems to be fine so I have to think it is a major server problem somewhere else???? Anyone else having problems?

Most of Norton's security programs come to your computer across the Internet using Norton's Download Manager software. Norton reports that many program start-up issues can occur as the result of an incomplete download, which will prevent the program from installing and running correctly. Reboot your computer and launch Download Manager again, then verify your product code using the purchase email you or your office received from Symantec when you purchased the product. Enter the product key into Download Manager and re-download the program you purchased.Norton lists three error messages associated with its software not starting correctly: errors "8504,104," "8506,421" and "3048,3." These errors appear when you attempt to load Norton and an aspect of its startup routine fails. Before trying any of its downloadable tools to fix errors, Norton recommends simply restarting your computer. Rebooting clears your system's memory and closes all programs, including Norton; when the computer starts again so will Norton, potentially fixing any error messages that appear. Sometimes, conflicting files cause issues in Norton and a reboot removes conflicts.Reinstalling the software will repair most issues with Norton, unless your computer is infected with a virus that has targeted your antivirus suite specifically. If problems persist relating to the errors 8504,104 or 8506,421, use one of Norton's removal tools to get the program working correctly. Both Norton Power Eraser and Norton Removal Tool uninstall all components of Norton, allowing you to perform a clean reinstall of the software, which addresses errors 8504,104 and 8506,421. Before reinstalling the software, use another virus removal tool like Microsoft Security Essentials (see Resources) to identify and remove viruses, then use the corresponding Norton tool to remove the software. Once Norton -- and all viruses -- is removed from your system, you'll be able to reinstall the software and can expect it to load normally.
