We have tried pinging Hostway website using our server and the website returned the above results. If hostway.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access Hostway - Troubleshooting Instructions

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

We can't receive emails because it says our box is full. It is not our outlook, but our server that is full. We contacted Hostways twice yesterday for assistance and they said.. "oh you can clear it but is will take a while". It has been over 24 hr and it is still not accepting incoming emails. Suggestions?

We're out of business - our exchange emails are dead and Hostway apparently doesn't have a way to reroute or redundancy.

Been this way for over 6 hours and I'm being told now - we don't know when it will be fixed... not a fan of their communication to us (none) and making us call back tomorrow to get credit for time we were down.

Our website has been restored. Some email has not started to flow in. Although it appears there is a lapse of email from early this morning until the first emails aound 3:11pm Pacific. Hopefully all will be restored soon this evening.

I can get to my server via IP (putty) but nothing else. SiteControl is also not reachable or timing out. Just spoke with Support and they said they are being bombarded with users and activity and to give it more time. Hard to believe a power outage on a system with UPS backups is this hard and takes this long to restore...

Got through on live chat. The rep told me it's a data center issue. On Facebook, Hostway posted it was a power failure in the area. I asked on chat if it was data center or a power outage. They refused to answer and said they told me all they can tell me. Hmmm....?

I am a dedicated support customer and got through on that line. The tech informed me that they are fully aware and have their tech on it working to resolve asap. I have 6 dedicated servers and many domains. My phone is going to be blowing up too!

Got off the phone with Hostway about an hour ago, after waiting for about 30 minutes on hold. They are having issues with their SMTP Authentication protocol. This is affecting the company I work for along with I imagine, many others. You should be able to receive emails, but emails will just sit in the Outbox until the problem is resolved. They estimated a few hours until their up, but this may end up being much longer.
