We have tried pinging Canada Post website using our server and the website returned the above results. If canadapost.ca is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress...

Can't Access Canada Post - Troubleshooting Instructions

If the site is UP but you cant access the page, try one of the below solutions:

Browser Related Problems

Force a full refresh for the site. This can be achieved by pressing CTRL + F5 keys at the same time on your favourite browser (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, etc.)

Clear the temporary cache and cookies on your browser to make sure that you have the most recent version of the web page. For instructions choose your browser :

Fix DNS Problems

A Domain Name System (DNS) allows a site IP address (192.168.x.x) to be identified with words (*.com) in order to be remembered more easily, like a phonebook for websites. This service is usually provided by your ISP.

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter). For details choose your operating system :

If you can access a website at office or from a 3G network yet it's not working on your computer, it is a good idea to use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are both excellent and free public DNS services.

Check our help page for step-by-step instructions on how to change your DNS.

canada post is down for whole day :( any help?

Darren Fraser · 21 July 2014 - 15:07
Canada · Telus Communications · Chrome 36.0 on Linux

I have been digging around and the issue isn't technically with any of the .canadapost.ca servers (www, sellonline, etc). It appears the name servers for the canadapost.ca domain name are down, so people cannot do any name lookups for *.canadapost.ca.

A workaround (if you have access to your own DNS or hosts file) would be to plug in the proper values: www.canadapost.ca should be 198.34.224.64 and sellonline.canadapost.ca should be 66.110.6.131.

This likely is a DNS issue, I was not able to connect via my work network, even the app would not connect using WiFi but using mobile data it connected without a problem.

Does any one tryed to change is DNS like it staited above?

Because Canada post was down when I tryed with my ISP DNS !

But I fallowed the instruction above on "how to change your DNS' and I was able to access it with google public DNS service. so you should give it a try, if you need to access post canada site right now.

Maybe Canada post just change something with there IP adress and you ISP didn't have the time to update there ISP server yet...

So it look like it not canada post server that is down but your ISP that is not up to date.
